If all the adulation has gone to Embiid's head, he certainly doesn't show it; in fact, the feeling is mutual: "I just love this city," he says. "As long as those guys upstairs want me, I'm going to be here." Besides, he adds, "I just switched apartments and it was a pain in the ass. I don't want to do it again."

So what’s next? What does he do once he heals, once The Process starts moving along again?

Embiid pauses and looks up at the uneven Philadelphia skyline: "I want to be one of the greats, to be in the Hall of Fame." And then he laughs.

"Or whatever."

Off topic, but why is he doing his own moving? If I had his money, I'd drop substantial money to not move a single item of mine.

He probably wasn't physically doing the moving, but moving is a pain in the ass no matter what!

I sold my house last summer, and even though I hired a moving company to actually move everything, it was months of work and stress to get it all done. Of course, he could pay someone to worry about all of the particulars like inspections, painting, cleaning, etc..., it is still a pain.

I love when people say "___ needs to stop doing ____ and focus on basketball/football/baseball/hockey/etc"

What do you think athletes do? Sit there on their couch at home all day and day dream about basketball? Draw up plays on the toilet while they're taking a duce? Organize their string beans and peas on their plates when they're out eating as unique football formations?

I don't even know what "focus on basketball" means. They do focus on basketball... when they're at practice. Or shootaround. Or in games. Other than that, no player in sports sits around and meditates all day with sports on the mind. It just isn't how things work.

Some are more dedicated than others and i don't think you can deny that......and joel embiid doesn't strike me as the most dedicated guy mostly cruising on raw talent and one day it's gonna catch up to him if he wants to get to the next level.....between campaigning to get voted into the all star game to get a date with rihanna instead of earning it, dancing on stage at a meek mill concert when he's injured to now dating a known socialite who's good for nothing but for leeching on sports stars in order to advance her career the guy is losing focus of the big picture period ! im a big fan but he's heading down the wrong path

You realize that a lot of basketball players have kids right? Having a child is far more of a time sink and distraction than going out at night. Do you criticize Lebron for his lack of dedication to the game because he got married and had 3 kids?

I don't know why you bother. There is a saying it is very hard to win an argument with someone who knows what they are talking about but it is impossible to win one with someone who does not. I usually don't make definitive statements but anybody who questions JoJo's commitment, until now, either is already biased against him or just is not paying attention. He has been phenomenal on the court and in the gym. He has done exactly what you want a young player to do. His improvement has been astounding. His rookie year has been historical and he plays with the effort of a guy trying to make the team. Health is his only issue and if healthy he is everything you want the face of your franchise to be.

That's part of the reason why I won't be too upset is the Lakers pick doesn't convey. I really believe BC is going to sign Jrue or Lowry in the offseason

Uh oh. Stop the presses. Embiid is acting immature because he starts to dance again sort of by waving his arms while Porzingis films him. This obviously means he's not dedicated and doesn't care about basketball. Embiid must be stopped. He just doesn't care about getting better and doesn't work on his craft because of this video.
