I hope not, then I'll be next. Besides I'm not sure why but I feel better about myself when sixerkitty posts.

Embiid Updates/Discussion

sixerkitty wrote:I am done with this. Look, you can have 10 new Doctors examine him, and get 10 different opinions. Bottom line is I will wait for any official word from either Hinkie, or Embiid himself. Until then, it's all just speculation. I will hope for the best, and react to the worst once it becomes official. Until then I will concentrate on the players who are on the court, and who are playing.

You are right that it is all speculation, but previously you said that if the foot isn't healed by now that it is because Embiid reinjured it or didn't follow the plan. That is wrong.

It is also wrong to say that the foot is healed if everything looks good at the 3 month mark. If your doctor friend said that then he is using hyperbole. Healed means that the foot is back to the state that it was in before he injury. If it was at that point at 3 months then he would be playing then.

We had a doctor saying in one of these stories recently that it is usual to see bone changes up to two years after an injury like this.in scans.

Embiid's foot is a huge concern and no Hinkir lovers(of which I am a huge one) would ever dismiss the fact that Embiid's career hangs in the balance of this injury, but it is a simple falsehood that it is over of he needs more surgery.

probably the only surgery we're talking here is a bone graft, or something related to necrosis. 'cause his navicular isn't as thick as they would like it to be. the expectation was that after it healed it would grow in response to the moderate stress of working out. it hasn't grown as much as they were hoping. they've probably been giving it more time before follow up scans, 'cause non-invasive would obviously be much preferred.

Interesting. How are you familiar with this type of info? Medical field? Had similar surgery? Read a lot?

Best friend, his brother is a specialist surgeon, dealing with Scaphloid Injuries. Has done over 300 Navicular surgeries of Embiid's kind. Both to regular patients, and Pro Athletes. And he himself said he has never seen anyone, Athlete or otherwise take longer then 7 total months to completely be healed, and out playing whatever professional sport that they play. That is where I get my information from. And sudden growth or blood flow has nothing to do with it. When my Friends Brother heard that he laughed his A S S off. :-)

I was actually asking rzzzzz where he gets his information because it is medically sound. Your information runs counter to the professionals I have seen comment on navicular healing times. The general consensus is the healing can routinely be delayed despite appropriate intervention.

Keith Pompey is terrible. How did he become the leading Sixers reporter?

But anyways, this was expected. Good thing Okafor will help ease the pain.

Welp it's official I think. He's likely out the season for a 2nd surgery.

I was fully expecting this news, but still sucks.

In Okafor we trust.

Um do you have any proof for him being wrong here?

What? I didn't say he's reporting false news. I believe this 100%.

I'm just saying as a side comment how little Pompey knows about basketball whenever he isn't reporting and is giving his opinions.

I'm asking how such a casual mark became the premier reporter on the team.

Embiid Updates/Discussion

Looks like a legit report, and I don't think someone would release this type of article without solid evidence. The silver lining is that we can focus on Noel and Okafor, and can see if their playing styles mesh. Still hope for the best for Embiid but the Okafor selection is looking like a huge blessing now!

Well, this is a crap sandwich.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Come on bruh... If the Sixers found out their chances to keep a 1st rnd pick increased you'd be happy, too.... I do feel bad for Embiid tho.

What a damn troll, by the way we still ripped you off on that trade, still one sided no matter how you look at it. It was awesome seeing all the free agents go to Sacramento!
