What's up with Maxey's foot? Every update Doc keeps saying "he isn't close"

We have been winning a lot of games since Maxey got injured, we don't want to end the winning streak

It's always easy to find Maxey on the NBA university Head Charts because he's got the best smile.

Maxey’s not gonna play off the bench

Which is fine. I like the idea of trying it, but if a young up-and-coming player's management team isn't good with him coming off the bench, that feels pretty understandable given the potential contract implications (even if Poole managed a hefty deal in that situation).

With Harden settling back into PG mode I think he'll be fine. Still might want to flip out Tucker for Melton or Thybulle though.

More importantly, Zach Lowe said the name.

What is your guys take on Maxey?

I think Maxey is a good player. Melton is not better than Maxey, as a player. But Melton is a better player than Maxey with the starters.

I dont mind holding unto Maxey. At some point our top guys will have a cold streak and we’d need Maxey.

But Melton has been great with our starters.
Milton has woken up as a 6th man scorer.

And at the same time, i can’t help but think we may get someone like Melton in return for Maxey. Someone who is not as good but is better for the team.

There’s no way you can have too much offensive fire power at your backcourt and still be able to distribute that much usage for Biid.

Huh? In return for Maxey you'll get a star for return? You think we'll get a defensive minded bench piece for Maxey?

Maxey eventually gonna be an all-star and he's on a rookie contract.

If you trade him for a Melton type player, and i love what Melton gives us, you're just an stupid GM and should be fired

Melton >>>> Maxey in the starting unit no question. Harden and Embiid are gelling like last season and Melton is the rug that ties the room together.

Our defence won’t look as anywhere near as good without him. Melton is probably a top 10-15 th defender and one of the top defenders outside of bigs performing this year imo.

The trio of Melton/Embiid/Tucker does cause opponents difficulties. Just wished we had a monster rebounder at the 3- 4 spot hint hint Josh Hart lmao.

Let’s be honest Maxey’s prototype is prefect 6th man material. Undersized rim runner that shoots and can get hot scoring wise really quickly.

Nope...No way...When Maxey comes back, he's the starter. I love Melton, he's become an extremely important player for us. The guy that's going to suffer is Shake when Maxey returns. The issue I see with Maxey is that IT IS a foot injury and you have to be very careful with those. There's no reason to rush him back, we're looking at an 8-10 week injury. When he returns, he's going to be the starting guard, but I expect his minutes to go down a bit. We're cooking with M&M right now, but that doesn't mean that Maxey doesn't have a future here. We've suffered for years without a competent backcourt and now that we have the ability to go 4 deep with our guards it's a problem? No...Doc's just going to have to play the hot hand and play the matchups. Obviously Harden is going to get big minutes, but Maxey, Melton, and Shake are all going to be pivotal players come playoff time. Keep in mind, Harden is an old player at this point. He wont be around forever, Maxey, Shake, and Melton are all relatively young guys that we should keep if we can. I don't know, call me crazy, but I'm not concerned about it when Maxey returns. Doc's going to have to make the right calls.

Think you trade Maxey in a package for Harris for a guy like KD. At his production and there are no 1 to 1 trades because he's so young and potential is so high, which he's already started to realize. He will be a top 15-20 player in the league for the next 10 years. That's an all star. That's his floor. If he ups his three point volume he's top 10 and a lillard clone.

Yeah, thats something im also ok with before this season started. But I dont think its available now

Regarding how good maxey is, I think he will be good but not top 15-20 good. Maybe top 15-20 if for a week or a handful of months but not for multiple seasons. But if i need to tell the world he is top 15-20 good to get KD for Sixers to win the championship, i’ll also sing the same music

He's a max contract guy dude. If you get a worse than Melton type player, you need to be fired and sent to an asylum.

if you can get a Melton type player in return (Mikal Bridges?) and it makes you a better team while you get 3 1st round picks, maybe its a good trade

You're getting 30 cents for the dollar. Leaving immense value on the table. He's not 30 lol. What's your issue with not wanting to get more.

No no no.. thats not what i mean. What I mean is there might be some trade out there were you get a player who is not as good but can make us a better team like Mikal Bridges. And I also dont mind getting Durant in return (see my previous posts when i was pushing for a Maxey+Tobi for durant trade)

Still leaving a lot of value on the table. If anything, I'd try and package, Matisse, Furk and Reed/Springer for another 3 and D wing. You could get the player you're talking about by trading Harris as well. His value is fairly good right now in the league. Maxey is not the player you trade to get the type of player you are mentioning.

I’d like to see some Harden Maxey Melton Harris Embiid.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
