He is an average scorer at best.
He is already 24 and shows no upside.
His advanced stats are not good.
He shows no sign at all to develop into a good shooter.

The only reason why he gets decent all around numbers is because he is playing guard on a trash team where he can pad stats how much he wants. We’ve seen this story before with MCW.

If you are going to trade Ben. You don’t trade Ben for someone who’s like a poor man’s Ben Simmons.

As a scorer, Milton and Maxey are already superior than this guy.

He's effectively a smaller version of Simmons that will shoot. His LEBRON stats are equal to Simmons this past season.

You don't need a scorer back for Simmons, you need a playmaker and defender.

This. He is a mini Ben Simmons on less than half the money. Good defender, good passer, 10th in triple doubles last season.

The Simmons hysteria is getting worse everyday...sooner the season starts the better.

Ok trade Ben for a scorer then Sign Rajon Rondo or MCW for cheap then.

We didnt try to get out of the Ben Simmons experiment to get back into a worse Ben Simmons experiment hahaha

What good is a good passer if he can’t score and breakdown defense?

You want a good passer? Get Facundo Campazzo.

There are only two ways to win with Embiid.
- Batman and Robin. Get him a top tier star
- Surround him with collective scorers. Spurs model.

And either way, the last thing you need is the most important position in offense being played by a guy who is a below average scorer and shooter.

Can’t win with Embiid

Doesn’t mean that you keep Ben

Joel is a Robin in today’s nba

I get what you're saying, but I think there's still added value in the dribble penetrating aspects that real Gs provide, even if they can't shoot.

Think back to the Boston series when Brett Brown benched Simmons for McConnell. McConnell was a defensive G that couldn't shoot either, but Brett knew T.J. provided the dribble penetration that Ben couldn't provide.

Murray is very quick and shifty and is assisted on only 29.8% of his halfcourt buckets for his career. There are things he can do in the halfcourt that Ben can't. I do agree that his lack of shooting makes him a mediocre piece, though. Which is why I'd hope we'd get Derrick White included in that deal. He can compound our Shake Milton dynamic.

Wrong, we lack a perimeter scorer.

Dejounte, Maxey, Green, Harris, Embiid -- Dragic, Thybulle, Vassell, Niang, Drummond -- Korkmaz, Reed

Feels like an upgrade over last season. That's a strong 12 man rotation with some tradeable young guys that could help land another star from a rebuilding team.

With a couple firsts added, that package would work for me.

76ciology wrote:What do you guys think of Joshua Primo?

I think he has the tools to be a poor man’s or as good as SGA.

Didnt flashed to me because of his numbers in college but i didnt factor in his age.

The reason I ask is, if Primo could be a very promising player. I then don’t mind getting Dejounte, Primo and draft pick compensation (picks or pick swap) for Ben.

I’d then trade Dejounte to probably the Cavs for Sexton.

And if you guys dont like Sexton then for someone like FVV, Brogdon, Rozier or anyone you like.

Vassell is the kid in SA with big time upside IMO.

Yeah, I like that San Antonio offer for sure. Dragic off the bench if healthy would be an underrated addition. Vassell is the hidden gem in all of this though. I like his upside.

Yeah, I feel like we're spending a lot of time polishing up the meh return and ignoring giving up a piece we need for no real reason.

Half of the proposed Simmons trades add Curry or Maxey for no reason as if they are freebies.

I only want Murray if we’re pushing our chips in for another scoring guard/wing like McCollum or were getting like Ingram.

I'm not warming up to any of these rumored offers. They don't put us into contender status. I'd continue to be patient.

It really is this.

This team is dramatically worse with Murray and especially Sexton here instead of Ben.

I think the crossroads will be hit come opening night if the offers really have stalled. Really awful teams like the Kings, Cavs and Wolves desperately want Ben, but they're reluctant to overpay and wagering on an internal boil-over that leads us to taking whatever we can get.
