Re: Joel Embiid - The Prophecy is Realized
He wouldn't be playing if he has a meniscus injury. I think it's more likely that he has loose bodies in his knee that need to be cleaned out and are causing him irritation.

It’s the same left knee he has scoped? In March 2017?
He probably needs another scope at least for diagnostic purposes. Mri can only show so much. That’s why they do knee arthroscopy. If it’s still bothering him this much. He’s eventually going down this path. It’s not the end of the world. And I can see why they want to avoid this at all until the season ends.

Having Embiid NOT healthy is terrible news for the Playoffs.
Our chances of making a deep run are drastically lower now.

And now he is out for today's game. His instagram post has a hashtag #imout. Doubt he is trolling us.
That's a really sad reality for Sixers fans. He's been sitting out games since the all-star and his knee got worse?! How is that even possible?
I always said we are going as far as Jo takes us, and now we are screwed.

Lol he means he's done on Instagram until the end of the playoffs. He said the same thing last year, and a bunch of players do the same thing. It means nothing.Kova wrote:And now he is out for today's game. His instagram post has a hashtag #imout. Doubt he is trolling us.

Embiid's road to the championship based on his instagram is Nets-Raptors-Celtics-Warriors.

Playing 24 mpg in the playoffs is not 'good to go'.

Ughghg... Isn't that what microfracture surgery is used for?

22 points - 15 rebounds - 4 assists - 5 blocks in 25 minutes on a career ending injury ...
Pretty impressive

Exactly, Embiid has suffered multiple injuries in the past in his back, knee, has lost some athleticism already, and now playing again with a bum knee and still is much more productive than a perfectly healthy Simmons lmao

Embiid having arthroscopic knee surgery to clean up the knee is a likely outcome.

I hope that's what it is, because Dr. Danny Chau thinks it's chronic arhtiritis. I think the one remedy for that is the dreaded microfracture surgery.

Could certainly be that too. But I think they go arthroscopic first before jumping to that diagnosis.

Re: Joel Embiid - The Prophecy is Realized
Really unfortunate, he is a very good player but his athleticism has already decreased compared to college, just imagine if he never had any serious injury, he already puts monster stats with decreased athleticism, Embiid with peak athleticism would be unreal.
We need to play him around 25min for the rest of his career and no back to backs, need to preserve his health at all costs.

Yeah. I don’t think the cart ride is significant. The injury itself is obviously a long term concern tho.

Re: Joel Embiid - The Prophecy is Realized
76ers are really in tough spot with Embiid and Simmons. In this day's NBA you have to choose either one of those two if you cannot surround them with elite shooting, even decent shooting is not good enough. If it weren't for Embiid's injury concerns it would be an easy choice.
But can you really trust Simmons as a franchise player? He is arguably more talented than Giannis coming in the league, has been in the perfect environment to grow up as a pro basketball player considering his dad was a pro aswell, while Giannis didn't, and he has progressed way faster than Simmons.
Quite a bummer. I think the 76ers rushed into contending for a title way too fast, but it's understandable with Embiid's injuries their window would always be short.
