Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread part V
I still predict Simmons will get traded after December 15, not because of the specific player, but because it will be more noise and trades after that date. And I expect Morey to go for top value.
Kings (Halliburton + Hield or Fox)
Wolves (Edwards or unprotected picks+swaps)
Cavs (Sexton+Love+unprotected picks)
Pelicans (Ingram)
These teams will be out of playoff picture late December/January. Panic mode will be activated.
I don’t think Lillard or Beal will be available during the season, but I like the options above.

Disagree I don’t think it makes it to opening night. Not because morey, but because other teams GM’s will cave and offer more

We’ll see. I want to get Ingram in some dream potential deal where Pelicans land Edwards, we get Ingram, Wolves get Simmons, because I trust Maxey to be a starting PG for this team for a very long time and I want wing player in return for Simmons.

I just can’t see that big a deal mid season. Would love that deal but I can’t see it happening. If it was going to be a thing I think before game 1 is the time for that big of pieces instead of picks moving

I've said it before and I will say it again. Embiid is dumb. His IQ is barely above lukewarm.
You've said it before and you've been warned about this having racist undertones.
I wouldn't call Embiid dumb but that post ain't in the same zip code as racist. Give it a spell.

Ditto Simmons. This team would be unbelievable with good PG.

It was for 2020-21 season.
I think it has to be mid February this season.

Maybe Brand was based and wanted Kawhi and Jimmy Buckets.
Ownership has strong bias on Ben. They wanted to build around Ben and Embiid to have a sustainable winning team. This team was build with the Spurs model in mind, not the Lakers model. And that lead to all kinds of wrong decision.
Sixers and Ben should have called divorce after the 2018 playoffs. Some of us here already saw it coming.
But what’s the justification for holding Ben?
“But we have the league’s best 5 man unit based on NetRtg”
“But we have +100NetRtg when both Ben and Biid are on the court”
When Ben was clogging the paint during the Raps series?
“But we had one of the best ORtg”
Remember those times?

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread part V
I remember those times. Some people lose sight of the fact that regular season on/off numbers don't win championships. I love analytics, but without context it's meaningless. The Celtics series in 2018 was all I needed to know that Ben isn't a championship level PG. Shoulda traded him for Kawhi and taken a better shot at the '19 title.76ciology wrote:Negrodamus wrote:https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2831868-nba-rumors-76ers-ownership-denied-elton-brands-request-to-trade-ben-simmons

Got a fun quiz for you guys.
Which Sixer put up 22/8/11 without Embiid in playoff games with a 3-1 record?

I will guess it was not any of the Sixer Players who when teamed with Joel but Minus Ben in the Playoffs have a 0-4 sweep to brag about.

Was that against the Wizards?
Not really a play-off test to me
And it wasn't Embiid who made Simmons shoot 30% on free throws these play-offs

Nope - he only got 19/10/11 against the Wizies without Joel.
23/8/10 is avg 4 PO games

You mean against the lowly no defense Nets or this year against the Wizards?
Wow big accomplishment. He did well on a team that was catered to him, meanwhile Jo, was unable to do the same thing against Boston, because that team was designed around Simmons and didn't have a ball handler who could even make a simple post entry pass.
Keep ignoring this though, you're such a shill.

One of the best passers in the game, who lead the league in assists to 3pt shots, couldn't make a post entry pass? I'll keep ignoring you.

OK, checked it.
The other play-off monster squads he played:
Nets with D'Angelo Russell, Joe Harris, Kurucs, Carroll, Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen, LeVert, Dudley, Hollis-Jefferson, Graham, Ed Davis in 2019
Heat with Dragic, Tyler Johnson, James Johnson, Whiteside, Josh Richardson, Winslow, Wade, Adebayo (rookie), Olynyk, Ellington, in 2018
You can tell the Sixers were not a great team either in 2018, we only were 1-1 in the games without Embiid, 3-0 with him against Miami.
That Nets squad was nothing, I'm sorry. Great he played good against them. Same for the Wizards. if Neto is a starter for a play-off team, you're only a play-off team because it's the East.
So great numbers for Simmons in play-off games without Embiid, but I'm really hoping other GM's jump on those numbers while making their offer without checking the context more.
