He has value. Teams with great perimeter players like the Wizards and Celtics could use him.

An Okafor Wade based trade wouldn't shock me after the offers we made last year to Crawford and Ginobili. Drafting Pasecniks shows the direction of the offense and it sure isn't any closer to Okafor being useful. Okafor, LaVine and Markkanen together on defense has some serious train wreck appeal as a viewer.

Give him to anybody other than Brooklyn, Sacramento or the Lakers. We need those teams win some games so the Celtics don't get a top 3 pick.

Ok4 should be inspired to be getting into the best shape of his life - loosing weight ,getting stronger and fitter , improving his weaknesses - rebounding and defence .
By this time next year he will be either getting PAID or struggling to find a job - I know what I would be doing if I was him rite now.

Ok4 should use Zach Randolph as an example of a head case. He's still very young and has offensive skills.
With the right team, he can provide instant offense 12-15 points a game/6-7 rebounds off the bench for many years playing 20-25 minutes. He still has value

Zach Randolph was a head case, but he also was intense and played with a high motor. He rebounded the ball and expanded his game into the mid range area which opens things up for him to work inside.

Okafor's offensive abilities are never really in question, its the rest of his game that is holding him back from becoming a good NBA player.

Get in shape and get engaged on the boards/defensive end of the floor. If he just did those 2 things, he'd be held in much higher regard.

All bigs should learn how to play like a wing. For me the best prototype for a center is Kevin Durant and Draymond Green. 4D Chess ya'll

You won't believe what happened. I was just simply saying he needs to have a jumper, move his feet on D and grab boards. And i said it in a very nice way. I wasn't copy pasting things from sixerscan or lloydfree (he probably would report me if I did that).Next thing I know, I can't access his account via mine. And for a while I thought he deleted his account.

..that said, sorry but I cant give you up to date evidence of Okafor's physique hahaha

Anyone who expects Okafor to suddenly become a good defender and rebounder should take a look at this article from a few years back.

https://www.canishoopus.com/2014/2/26/5435374/potential-nba-draft-prospects

Rebounding, steals, and blocks all translate fairly well from college and aren't things you can typically expect significant improvement in.

Scoring efficiency is actually the category in which you can most likely expect improvement - this is somewhat problematic for Okafor because his edge in his primary strength will actually decrease over time, while he likely won't be making up as much ground on his weaknesses.

The article has some good points, but not sure how it says Okafor can't improve. Obviously, Okafor did not help on team defense, it is something he didn't focus on for whatever reason. Now, he has been exposed and it threatens his survival in the NBA. Why can't with practice and coaching improve his team defense. With better position and awareness, he should be able to become better. Actually, he was showing some improvement during games, but was slow reacting. It's not easy to do, when a NBA team isolates you as the weakest defender. Anyway, with no excuses, he has this last chance with a more talented Sixers team to show improvement or he is done.

It's not that he can't improve, it's about how much he has to improve even to get to a reasonable baseline, and also how much he has to improve in not just one area but multiple areas. When you factor that together with the things he needs to improve upon being far more tricky to project or show as examples of others doing the same in terms of sizable, quantifiable improvements, this is why it's hard.

He has to want to do it, right now for me he is basically Bynum 2.0, as in after the Sixers traded for Bynum.

Bynum's knees, no they weren't great but he didn't give a crap, he never wanted to be here and once he the hit the 16.5 million dollar lottery from the Sixers, he was done.

I never gave credence to the Jersey throw down with Okafor, and I remember reports of him in the city greeting fans and signing autographs early in his rookie campaign, then the Boston stuff happened, he ended up with a decent rookie showing, IIRC he tore up KAT in a game that year. But once the knee injury happened he completely checked out, last year he was more miserable than my ex wife, (who can blame her).

I was happy when Hinkie drafted him, I know for a fact I saw potential with him at Duke, but I guess the Lakers not drafting him should have set a light off in my head, I think Hinkie was fed some bad info on him cause If something doesn't seriously change about his attitude, I think he's out of the league in two or three years.

Heck MCW is lucky to still be in the league as well, I mean we all remember that first game, rookie year, WTF happened to him? Is he really that bad?

We will get nothing when moving him. The returns from Noel and Okafor are disheartening.

Yeah, but their lack of success lead to us getting Ben and Fultz. Hinkie said that we won't hit on every draft pick, so we want to collect as many high draft picks as possible.

In the end, it worked out.

Yeah. The idea that you have to win every battle in order to win the war is silly.
Turn a loss in a win is the way to win the war.
