Another notch on the good guys belt!

Better get Crowder and Smart along with that #3 pick. The Celtics should be forced to overpay for their desire.

Im all for getting a big pay day for Okafor, but what if they decline? That's a pretty big haul for Okafor.

Is there any other interest out there from other teams?

I know you weren't a very big Okafor this season, so kinda surprised to see you not chomping at the bit to get him out of here lol.

The way I see it at the very least I would need 3 and either Bradley, Crowder, or smart and 16.

I don't want to give Ainge/Boston something they want without them having to give up more than then they feel comfortable with to acquire it.

I'd be pretty disappointed if we only netted the 3rd overall pick for Okafor, in a relatively weak draft. I'd also want either Bradley or Crowder (more so Crowder).

We have the upper hand in any discussion with Boston.

- They've been in love with Okafor for two straight summers.
- The best players projected to be on the board during their selection are guards (a position group they have a surplus at).

So do they take yet another guard, have to pawn off one of their current guards, and go into another postseason with a froncourt of Amir/Sullinger/Olynik?

Let me take a moment to bitch about Pompey again...

He is a complete hack.

He said that the Celtics had "a deal in place" to get Okafor. Uh, if they had a deal in place then he would be in Boston. They obviously did NOT have a deal in place. They made an offer for him.

Every time he references "an NBA executive" to tell me what the Sixers are thinking we know that what he is really saying is " a person who works in the NBA, but really has no idea what the Sixers think" He constantly calls people giving opinions "sources" as if they actually know something, when in fact they are just telling you what they think.

A source is someone who knows something, not someone who thinks something. If all they are is someone who is giving an opinion then they should be referenced as such. "Someone I talked to in the NBA, thinks the following..."

If they were NBA executives within the Sixers organization then he would call it a team source. Since he isn't then we know that he is representing something falsely. He knows that the person that he is quoting doesn't have the information that he is claiming to have, but he places them under the umbrella of "a source" to make it seem like he is digging up actual information.

He is in the business of making people think that he knows more than he does so he keeps his gig.

I have a bad feeling about trading him for #3. If a superstar becomes available for trade, he'd be a nice piece to have to offer, plus at least we know what Okafor is. I don't like trading quality pieces for unknown commodities unless you are an old aging team that is trading older vets for young prospects. That is not the Sixers. Why trade a known commodity in Okafor for another pick who could easily be far inferior and at most will likely be on par?

Id be down but I'd need them to pay a hefty price or I'm sending him to PHX. Something like Okafor/24/26 for #3/BKN 2017/Bradley/Crowder is the lowest I'd go

I like Murray and Dunn probably more than I should. But yeah I think Boston should have to attach Smart or Bradley or Crowder to any deal perhaps even a pick if we truly have them by the nuts (Brooklyn if we are really feeling brave). Its not an ideal get for Jah but if you are trading him you must feel like he will never get better defensively or something..idk.

You go to the Suns and play them against the Celtics. Both need a scoring big. It drives the price up.

Yup. We're in the position of power. Okafor is in year 2 of his rookie deal and will continue to register enough counting stats to appeal to certain people. We're not under any pressure to deal him this offseason.

A top 3 pick, a top 5 pick and 2 good young 2-way perimeter players on decent contracts for Okafor??

Im all for getting value, but that just seems like an extremely unrealistic type of offer. Superstars have gotten less in return.

Its obviously kind of irrelevant at this point but who here agrees the Celtics would still be interested in an Okafor trade if they landed at 2 instead of 3?

3 and One of Bradley, Crowder, Smart and the 16th pick, or Brooklyn 2017 would do it for me

They'd still be interested in Okafor, but they would feel less pressure to deal the #3 pick because they'd be in position to land a F as opposed to bringing yet another G onto their roster.

The minimum that I could live with is 3 and Smart for Okafor.

I know that smart is not a shooter, and we really need players that can shoot, but he is a tough nosed defender that can also handle the ball and make plays. He would improve is immediately.

Plus if we made that deal we could draft Murray and play him next to Smart, and we basically picked up a starting backcourt.

While technically a "top 3 pick", we all know that the 3rd pick in this draft isn't worth much, particularly to us, given that the 3rd best player is another PF/C.

I like the optimism but I just don't see Okafors trade value at close to the suggestions here. I think Ainge has his sights set a bit higher than Jah.
