This injury isn't detrimental to a player's long-term health, but it does have risk of 2nd surgery that happens somewhat often. So if he needs another surgery, hopefully that's it.

very similar to durant's situation. jones fractures are one of the worst because the bone heals slowly due to lack of blood flow in the area of the fracture. too many cases of jones fractures being reinjured due to not healing properly

Why is the bleeding green nation guy getting scoops on this.

I don't know anything about this guy I assume he wouldn't just make things up but him being the only person that knows anything is weird. I guess it's late and other people could corroborate in the morning.

I guess you've got to rationalise this however you can, with the most common being nothing is really wrong with him and;
- Sixers are tanking
- Simmons and his agent just want the ROY and the financial incentives

Both are missing the point and after Embiids surgeries I'm not sure how your missing it but....guys, this is seriously bad news for the health of one of our franchise players. If he needs more surgery then both our cornerstones managed to have multiple serious foot surgeries before playing a game. Not a good place for huge humans to get hurt. This sort of stuff can really impact their athleticism.

Why can the team not get these guys right? That's the the problem....not BC misleading the fans....it's our key guys can't get healthy. Injuries happen.......it's how they are rehabbed after that is the critical issue and our staff seemingly suck.

Please use your heads people. It doesn't need to be this elaborate to tank. All they have to do is come out and say "We want to give Ben Simmons the rest of the season to heal up to make sure he's 100% for next season and not risk his future."

They don't need to make up CT scan results and fake snapchats and all this nonsense, it's crazy. The Sixers have misled in a lot of ways lately, but they don't need to make these elaborate things to tank. If tomorrow BC confirms the results are bad, then they're bad. They won enough games to get out of the microscope of Adam Silver, they don't need to prove anything to anyone anymore.

No doubt there is probably something wrong with the foot but something about this isn't making sense to me.

Not a medical guy and I don't work for any sort of basketball organization but the orgs been getting killed about witholding
information about Joels injury. Than prior to the allstar break we get some random story from Pompey that Simmons seems to have
had some sort of complication at his last previous scan...and that he'll have another scan done this week. So during that time
Simmons goes to Miami with Nerlens and works out and all this stuff(as shown in his instagram) he comes back and goes into
individualized workouts and doing 5-0's....with Brett talking about the gym got a lift and he moves well blah blah blah. Only for us to find out that he re-injured his foot?

No one thought to themselves at any point in between the two scans hey this isn't looking too right lets dial it back. With another foot scan schedule in a week no one went up to him and say hey lets chill out till we get the results? We obviously had been seeing less of him doing pregame stuff and practice stuff for a good while and then all of the sudden with the media is **** on the front office he instantly starts doing work before the Miami game doing pregame stuff and now we have these practice videos of him on Wednesday, etc.

I think keeping out for the season is very smart. We all saw what happened to Durant. It was extremely likely if Simmons came back this season that it would have resulted in him needing a follow up surgery. Best to get things fixed now and have him 100% for next season.
