This is a silly criticism. Obviously Josh is a business man. That’s all he has ever been and ever SHOULD be. Protecting his best assets is obviously his main concern, but he has no say in whether an injured player plays or doesn’t play, and it is an insult to his intelligence that you think that he would meddle in such things.
The game tonight is going to be full whether Embiid does it does not play.
Embiid understands the deal here. If he is medically not blocked from playing then obviously he would want to play. If it is left up to him in how he feels then I assume that he will take that seriously.
If he says he has no pain and then plays and is shown wincing on the bench like last game then he will lose credibility with the medical staff and could jeopardize his influence on whether or not he plays in the future. He is smart and gets it.
I think he will play if he feels good, and will sit if he doesn’t.
