Going off personal experiences, I have heard from multiple doctors/back specialists that the average adult has small/moderate herniation to at least 1 disc in there back. All depends on how bad it actually is.

I personally have had 3 discs fused in my back, and it sucks. Ive been good since then but I'm also not an NBA athlete.

embiid has been upgraded to questionable tonight...

this team just is completely incompetent isn't it? Just when we think they cant be more dumb, they out do themselves again

No redick tonight, obviously no fultz... Why on earth would we risk playing embiid in a game that we are going to lose even if he does play, at the risk of him injuring it more lmao

JUST REST HIM UNTIL IT'S BETTER! this isn't a mysterious bs injury like fultz, this is real, he was grimacing, rest the toronto losses, this team is too trash to win those anyways

play him christmas if he's 100%

I had a ruptured disc (L5S1) where PT/Shots didn't work and had outpatient surgery. The pain was so bad down my right leg/butt that I could hardly walk before having the surgery. (also not an athlete  )

Hoping it's just muscle related for JoJo...

So in reaction to the woj bomb, the Sixers might play Embiid before Christmas, afterall?

Maybe we can get Woj to release info on plans to sit Fultz the entire year so the team can pivot on that next.

We know if Embiid is playing is because he is pushing to play because of his competitive nature. If it was up to the Sixers, they would sit him out for any reason. They gotta protect their main ticket sales, all this bs comes down to Josh. He is strictly a business man, all about putting money in his pockets.

This is a silly criticism. Obviously Josh is a business man. That’s all he has ever been and ever SHOULD be. Protecting his best assets is obviously his main concern, but he has no say in whether an injured player plays or doesn’t play, and it is an insult to his intelligence that you think that he would meddle in such things.

The game tonight is going to be full whether Embiid does it does not play.

Embiid understands the deal here. If he is medically not blocked from playing then obviously he would want to play. If it is left up to him in how he feels then I assume that he will take that seriously.

If he says he has no pain and then plays and is shown wincing on the bench like last game then he will lose credibility with the medical staff and could jeopardize his influence on whether or not he plays in the future. He is smart and gets it.

I think he will play if he feels good, and will sit if he doesn’t.

Embiid is a business man also. He has an additional 30 million reasons to make sure he plays enough to get 1st team All-NBA.

I've heard that the average adult has small tears in their miniscus too.

Obviously what happened is BC fed that tidbit to Woj about Christmas to tamper fan expectations (and to let the league know they are still their lapdogs), and Embiid is fighting against it because he wants to play.

If not Josh Harris then O’Neil then. Embiid said in a interview that the team convinced him to sit out when he felt he could play. He was frustrated by it but understood. He even said what they did or doing to Fultz is BS too.

It wouldn’t be O’Neil either. Those guys are on the business side.

When he said the team convinced him of something he is talking about the coaches and the doctors.

If O’Neil or Harris were anywhere close to a basketball decision they would be wildly out of their depth, and guys like that don’t get to where they are by making uninformed decisions.

The best business decision you can make is to hire the right people and then give them the space to do their jobs. Whether Embiid does or does not play has no affect on ticket sales for games that have already been sold.

Embiid not playing tonight.

The probable was a tactic from Scott O'Neil to get more fans to come down to the game.

My brother just sat down in his seats at the game and I had to break it to him that he wasn’t playing.

If he was this close though hopefully next game he plays.

All these high picks spent on big men and here we are still watching players like Amir Johnson and Richaun Holmes. Feels bad man.

Haha, the whole team and Brett basically just said he looked good to go.... and he's out.

It's hilarious how good we are as an organization when it comes to flat out disappointing the fanbase.

He was never going to play, and they knew it. Woj already reported it. They wanted to trick fans into thinking he would play to sell a few extra tickets. This has nothing to do with Colangelo. He has no motivation to trick the fans, he doesn't care about the team's profits.
