From Bod's article:

Teague would be eligible for the following max contract extension:

2017-18: $30.5 million (29 years old)
2018-19: $32.8 million (30)
2019-20: $35.1 million (31)
2020-21: $37.4 million (32)
2021-22: $39.7 million (33)
Total: 5 years, $175.4 million

Defense wins championships. Id prefer to keep the only player on the roster whos a plus defender. This is the Noel-Jrue trade in reverse. Noel getting traded for a league average PG who happened to make an All Star team. If we get more than just Teague(and he would HAVE to agree to an extension) then id reevaluate it, perhaps getting Korver like others have mentioned. A one for one trade though would be tough to swallow.

For the Hawks, this allows them to brace for the loss of Al Horford. A Noel-Millsap frontcourt would fit offensively and would be terrific defensively. Theyll be able to switch everything 1-5. Thats something I wanted the Sixers to eventually have. Noel has more value to us than he'll ever get us on the trade market.

Then you trade him for a better return. You don't think Covington could get you a legitimate placeholder PG?

Covington might get you Ish Smith. I highly doubt he gets you a Jeff Teague/Jrue Holiday/Kyle Lowry

Yeah, you're just an idiot if you think Covington can only get Ish Smith. And, spoiler alert, we don't someone of the caliber of Teague/Holiday/Lowry.

LOL. Ok bud. You go get a quality starting PG for Covington.

This is considered baiting. This is your only warning.

EDIT: Wait...how many warnings do you already have against your record? Wow.

So why are we arguing? That is precisely my point. Just sign someone semi-competent rather than trading Noel for someone who is either going to walk in a year or sign a contract that makes the trade even worse?

Agree 100%. Sign Augustin and if we have to trade Noel, at least get someone who will be here for more than 1 year.

Haha, now Pompey is saying we would also be sending Covington and Stauskas.

If he wouldn't sign an extension at less than the max(hell he isn't a max player) then I wouldn't do the deal.

If he did, I think that I would be on board, especially if it meant that we kept Okafor.

Yes please. This makes a lot more sense as a stop gap PG (some alternatives are washed up Calderon and Lin). Maybe BC is mudding the water so we would have lower expectations for him.

If that is the case then there would HAVE to be more coming back to us.

Sure, BC would probably let them dump a bad contract on us also. This is unbelievable.

Something comforting from thereõ:

This time, the Sixers are shopping Noel and center/power Jahlil Okafor to “at least 15 teams” to see where they can get the best deal, according to the source.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

Because

1.I prefer to look at things through another lens. While I don't necessarily support the notion, I can see the logic in trying to put a good "win now" player around Simmons/Embiid/Okafor. Developing them is priority #1 and if something like this helps do so, its worth the price.

2.I view Noel as being in the same situation as Teague. He is either going to bolt for a starting gig elsewhere if we don't figure out our big man situation or will be resigned to a large deal and be stuck fighting for minutes with Embiid/Okafor.

Our "big 3" of Okafor/Noel/Embiid can not stay intact.

For us, it really has to be a confidence thing that A: Teague will resign B: Okafor will learn how to play defense or Embiid will be healthy
Teague/Stauskas/Simmons/Okafor/Embiid (Saric 6th Man) Teague/Stauskas/Simmons/Saric/Okafor (Embiid 6th Man)
Don't think It's going to Happen but I'm bracing myself to like it hahahahaha

Probably because they don't plan on keeping/paying Horford.

The Kings fans said the same thing last year.

Bad GMs make bad trades.

That said, this isn't going to happen.
