No amnesty in the new CBA. So no. They could stretch waive hm, and have his last 2 years count for 3.6m a year for 5 years instead of ~9m a year for 2 years. But thats a bad idea even if you were waiving him.

I remember people saying its a good contract cuz the third year is ung but basketballinsiders and spotrac note that 3 years are guaranteed, he has the biggest contract of all sixers

Did they? I can't remember that, but I thought it was fine because it's declining. I still ultimately like his fit with Simmons, too.

Yeah, he has to be thinking of Henderson. That was never a rumor for Bayless.

My first comment when I heard Bayless's deal was I hope it is declining.

so does this news twist BC's arm enough to trade for a guard?

or is he going to torture everyone with Sergio/TJ splitting minutes?

He was a vet with shooting skill that could man minutes at the 1 as an offball player to Simmons. I think almost all of us were okay with bringing him onboard.

However, I don't think a single one of us was happy with the 3 year term he got. His usefulness was probably only going to be for the 2016-17 season. And now with the injury, he won't even fulfill that.

Well, yeah. Of course that was my issue with it. I get the fit... I just dont know why you would commit that many years to such a mediocre player.

Sixers basically just paid this guy $9.5 million for literally 1-2 games played. Unreal. ..

Guess that means I have to stomach more minutes for McConnell. Gross.

I like Bayless as a fit with Simmons too. Once he gets healthy, he should be a good solid guard for us.

BC signed 3 free agent guards this off season in Rodriguez, Bayless, and Henderson. I think that Bayless was the best signing of the three, but obviously the injury killed the first year. I'm hopeful for the second year.

Merged the Bayless threads. So we can enjoy the Bayless experience all in one place.

Or lack of experience.
