I find his help D and passing to be much better in the last two games.

Figure I'll post these in the player's threads. Gives a little bump too before the season begins.

I see him being in and out of the rotation. It's a good thing we'll have more roster spots available going forward. I see Anderson competing with Jah, Stauskas, and Korkmaz for an active roster spot (Assuming Embiid, Simmons, Covington, Redick, Fultz, Saric, TJ, Holmes, TLC, Johnson, and Bayless have the first eleven locked up).

Since we're the Sixers, I'm sure we'll have injuries throughout the year that will open things up for guys like Anderson.

The rotations could be shorter. This would help to keep players fresh and out of foul trouble.

With Anderson's athleticism, I was hoping for him to be a good defensive minded SG. However, his vision and shooting has been poor to challenge the others. Maybe, a good offseason, he could look better.

Really wish he was a better player. Seems like a high character good guy. Hopefully he can put it together.

If Justin Anderson had any handle at all, he'd be a problem, slashing to the rim. Not many guys in the league have his combination of athleticism and physical profile.

Unfortunately, he's just so...skill-less. No jumper, no handle. He's relegated to being a transition player, an off-ball cutter and a defender.

thanks for the article

I think there are still things that the league hasn’t seen from me. I think I’m a very, very good shooter. All summer, I’ve been working on my shot. Every day, I was getting a ton of reps up with shooting coach John Townsend. The coaching staff believes in me as a shooter.

I also believe that I’m a Top-10 defender in this league. I have that confidence in myself. I want to take over defensively and have that reputation and get that respect. Like I said before, I want to be a major piece of this puzzle. We all look at teams like Golden State and Cleveland, and those teams need two-way players and glue guys to be that effective. Look at a guy like Andre Iguodala and just how important he is to the Warriors. Coach Brown sent me an article written by Shane Battier called “Elite Glue Guys 101” that was really good. That’s what I want to be. I’ll be that guy who knows where to be on the court at all times. I’ll be that guy who dives for the loose ball. I’ll be that guy who guards whichever player is hot. I’ll be that guy who can space the floor and knock down open threes. I’ll be that guy who pushes the ball and gets someone the easy transition basket.

Yesterday, when we were standing at the foul line during the Heat game, James Johnson told me, “You’re a beast, man. Keep doing what you do. I see you working. You’re going to be a beast in this league. You remind me a lot of myself when I was younger.”

Definitely rooting for JA. I remember he impressed me last year during a mid or post-game interview. I think there’s still hope for his 3 point shot to get to better than atrocious levels, which he’ll need to do to stay in the rotation.

He strikes me as very thoughtful and quite bright. That was an enjoyable read. I hope his shooting is for real.

His part on Fultz is encouraging. I'm glad Markelle is responding to the leaders of this team.

Nice article. This was my fav bit.

The biggest thing that I admire about him is his mentality. His mentality and mindset are just different from most players. I believe he has a chance to be the best player to play this game because of his mentality. His mindset is, “If I want to do something, I’m going to go do it.” You see it on the court. Guys are fouling him or struggling to guard him and he’ll yell, “He can’t guard me! Get him out of the game! He’s going to foul out!” He does everything in his power to put our team in a position to win. And not only does he put up big numbers, he draws so much attention from defenses and he can get other players out of the game [due to foul trouble]. He has the mentality of a champion. Yesterday, he pulled me aside during the Heat game and he said, “We’re going to the playoffs.” And I said, “Yo, take us there!” He’s at the point now where he knows how dominant he is and he knows that nobody can guard him. And I think he’s right, nobody can guard him!

I am officially on the Simba bandwagon. He is such an upgrade over Nerlens in the locker room. What a great positive force to have on the team. If he can continue to improve his shooting, that trade might look really good for us in a season or two. It might turn into another Jae Crowder type deal for the Mavs.

Justin Anderson currently hitting 1.3 threes per game at a 35.7% rate. He needs to takeover the majority of back-up F minutes that Saric gets.

Figured we should mention that the Sixers exercised his 4th year option. Eh, whatever. Shouldn't be hard to move if we need the space.
