I know it's not an incredible splash, but what else can a team like SAC wish for. No FA is going there, even rookies don't want to go there (see Luka).

At some point, they have to take what they can and stop dreaming I guess

They already have Richaun though. Horford is a better fit next to Bagley, but Richaun was probably a better player than Horford this past season. I hope the Kings see things differently.

Horford + Bagley + Holmes is a nice 3 big rotation. They could also pump and dump on Horford by the trade deadline if they’re not playoff bound.

This deal may depend on if the Kings get who they want at #12. Like maybe they want Nesmith to take Buddy’s spot before pulling the trigger.

Horford and Bagley is a duo that can work. The biggest reason i can see is Hield forcing his way to out of the Kings that made Kings lose all leverage.

In fairness, if you read that Houston Chronicle piece it's really just an editorial wrapped around repeating what Woj said yesterday.

I think people are confusing this moratorium being lifted with like the start of free agency. A lot of trades can’t be made until the new league year starts next week. Like this Hield trade the salaries don’t work until then. Same thing with any Simmons trade, it’s not really possible until his extension kicks in.

There’s usually a small number of moves in the days before the draft, there will probably be a few more than normal with all the time everyone has had. But it’s probably not gonna be a free for all.

The problem is most reporters don't actually read it, they put their own spin on it and tweet it out as if they have new info. Lol

IF, and that is a big IF, Houston decides they want to acquiesce Harden's request for a trade, my gut tells me they won't simply get on the phone with BKN and start talking.

It'll be an exploratory process of finding suitors and checking their best offers.

Morey absolutely would put in an offer. It won't be enough likely to beat a Nets offer without Simmons involved.

And if Harden straight up says, "don't bother trading for me if you aren't the Nets", then I'm sure teams will back off their offers and decrease the value, and the Nets will default to having the best offer.

I think Nets is on the top of his list. But Sixers is also part of the list.

I’d also imagine Morey knows the Rox well that he thinks he can get Harden without giving up Biid or Ben. So the Rox had to create the stage for Morey to be pressured to hand over Ben.

It’s not just 2 dimensional now. You have to consider that if Morey doesn’t give in, Nets will ruin our championship hopes atleast for the short term.

Lol that escalated quickly. And like I said, he is gonna try to tank his value to all other teams so the Nets get a heist.

It’s not a real report. Just something that Twitter handle put out there vaguely citing a Houston chron article that isn’t nearly as definite as that.

Fwiw, vin is legit for me now. He’s in line with what fl311 is reporting.

Legit until proven otherwise

he has been proven otherwise every 10 minutes

only anonymous twitter accounts worth paying attention to are local guys with strong connections to one team, not Vinsider that has details or every deal, from every team in the league

Yep, Enjoying Vin Fosh as anything other than a meme isn't wise. His NFL stuff is comical.

Right, that's the only piece of the column that wasn't an editorial. It may be 100% true but it's not new reporting - it's repeating what Woj/Shams said yesterday.

I like it. I’m willing to send #49 and #58 along with Al to get it done if push comes to shove!

They're going to want #21 for sure. Horford does nothing for them, really, in the immediate future.

It’s hard to see a straight deal. Third team will likely have to be involved. They also may have to wait in season and see if any injuries make a team desperate.

The proposed Harden-Durant-Irving super team looks more like a stupor team. Tons of offensive firepower, no defense, no leadership, questionable chemistry and hopefully most of the best role players stripped out in any trade. Jordan is mostly all bark and little effective bite, Kyrie can blow up any on and off court chemistry in an instant, tons of high usage guys and injury/age concerns. They really just don't scare me as contenders, nice regular season record if they all stay healthy, but GSW became a super team when they became an incredible defensive team to go along with the offensive fireworks, I just don't see that in NJ. Entertaining to watch, sometimes beautiful, at others a car wreck you can't look away from, but as much stupor team as super team.

It's been 8 minutes and we don't have James Harden yet. I want my Daryl Morey down payment back.
