It is what it is. There are very few good PBP broadcasters any more, as they are all taught to talk, talk, and then talk some more. 'Silence is deadly' must be the new slogan. Kate is as good (or bad) as any of them - very professional, knows the sport, etc., but also too anxious to be cool and fit in, and definitely shouts too much - just like almost anyone that would be brought in now.

She's not going anywhere, about the most we could hope for is a serious, competent analyst at some point.

Agreed, she's perhaps a a bit chatty but may come with being new and trying to find her niche. It doesnt help that Alaa is a chatter box as well.

When she did that I literally groaned. Damn lady, just carve your own path for better or worse - reminding viewers of a beloved icon by using his lines (and saying it is something you intend to continue doing!) is just insane, and as you said, desperation.

I don't think she is the best choice they could have made for many reasons, but just hope she settles in and just becomes something more than a distraction.

That said, Kate Scott just sounds like your annoying friend who comes to watch with you and your friends where she doesn’t know anything but just blurbs whatever she sees that is happening out there.

I must have missed that. I only caught the second half of the OKC game, but when I heard her call Alaa "partner" I said "uh oh". Only a matter of time before we hear "Sixers locking all windows and doors".

I know a lot of people got upset when posters complained about her before Game 1, and to be fair some of the criticism was unfair, but through a couple games, the experience is ... not great.

Maybe its just to my standard. Im reading at comments at social media across different mediums (facebook, twitter and instagram) you can read how people are not happy with hpw she’s covering the games.

Here's the problem - Kate just got here and wants it to sound like she's always been here, with the "partner" stuff and the "Zu" references. She and Alaa are trying way too hard to inject themselves into the game, when all people want to do is watch the game.

Just call the game, stop with all the forced humor and giggling, stop with the oh-so-hip lingo, and please dear lord tone down the shouting. Let the audience come to you instead of grabbing them by the throat.

Do those things and the complaints will disappear.
