Celts have a good starting unit and bench. They’d definitely be able to stay close with us and sometimes have cushion by crunch time. Our edge is we have better reliable go to scorers and go to actions by crunch time.

Bucks is average on both starting unit and bench. We’re gonna have cushion in more games by crunch time. And we have better reliable go to scorers and go to actions by crunch time.

We just need to keep building on this. And maybe the addition of McDaniels might even take us into another level by adding another dimension to this team.

If McDaniels is going to play backup C, then we’re so unbelievably screwed, it’s not even funny.

I also wouldn’t mind a Reed-McDaniels 4&5 off the bench.

Maxey
Milton
McDaniels
Niang
Reed

McDaniels is more of a SF/PF

Maybe Maxey was going through some personal issues lately?

Less Harris minutes the better. McDaniels is a way better defender than Tobias.

Do you think some of these young guys that hear talk of being possible trade bait leading up to the trade deadline get affected emotionally?

Went from starting, killing it, all-star chatter, to broken foot and out, comes back flat and playing like trash, coming off the bench, name floated in trade talks.

I think its about coming off the bench. The kid takes his career too seriously.

Problem with young guys nowadays is everything's instant that they can’t accept some things takes time.

Imagine one day being one of the most promising players, signing your own shoe then being told you play off the bench the next day.

Just my opinion. Maybe its not that.

Maybe his crush just does not want to go out with him.

I think McDaniels eventually replaces Tobias.

I like Biid playing with someone like McDaniels, not as good as a shooter but still decent. And can grab boards and provide secondary rim protection (Biid does not want to jump before crunch time).

For now, we have to wait and see what role he plays. Its partly what we plan to do with him and partly how he’s gonna perform on what role we give him.

I think it's important to see 'where' McDaniels is going to fit on this team. I don't expect Doc to do anything drastic with him, but he needs minutes so we can at least see what he can do. I really hope to see him playing tomorrow night.

With McDaniels

It reads out:

Harden
Melton
Tucker
Harris
Embiid

Maxey
Niang
McDaniels
Milton (if he’s hot ride him to the sun if not limit it same with Maxey)

Get a backup big that plays around 10 mins in the playoffs and now it’s set for the playoffs. Could it be better of course? Structurally though it’s there

I think that’s the likely reason. But whole team seems good with that decision

I dont think we’re gonna get a new back-up big while I think McDaniels and Harrell or Reed or even possibly Tucker at the 4&5 will be the direction.

I mean Maxey is a good guy. He won't say no. But obviously he wants to start and he should. Kids a star and the only reason he's on the bench is because Harden can't move his fat ass and Morey and Doc did a terrible job with the bench and our defense.

I'm prediciting Klutch drama soon.

Tucker - McDaniels - Harris frontcourt could be something that can be used for some minutes I guess, together with Maxey and Harden?

Do you guys think we will try a front court of Harris - McDaniels and Embiid? Not enough spacing probably, but this would put PJ to the bench which would be a good thing to limit his minutes a bit and lead our bench squad with Tyrese.

I think we will. McDaniels-Biid allows you to play Maxey-Harden backcourt because of rebounding and secondary rim protection McDaniels bring. But its more likely next season than this season.

I also think a 3 guard unit of Maxey-Harden-Melton with McDaniels-Biid at the 4&5 would work.

But for the short term, Its very likely that McDaniels’ role is to solidify the bench’s defense by providing rebounding and rim protection while improving our dribble drive offense.

Agreed. It'd be embarrassing if McDaniels outplays Tobi but that's possible.
Luckily, Tobi is an expiring contract next season.
