Re: Game 60: Heat vs 76ers.
Unless Maxey takes a huge leap, the move this summer is Harris + Maxey for a 3rd star. Anyone who can play the 2, 3, or 4 and pick up where James and Jo fail to on any given night. Imagine someone like KAT next to Embiid and Harden…
Harden(33)/MLE(15)
Melton(28)/Springer(12)/MLE(8)
Tucker(24)/McDaniels(24)
Towns(18)/Niang(20)/FA(10)
Embiid(33)/Towns(15)
Harden(33)/MLE(15)
Melton(28)/Springer(12)/MLE(8)
Tucker(24)/McDaniels(24)
Towns(18)/Niang(20)/FA(10)
Embiid(33)/Towns(15)
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

That should've been the move at the trade deadline. This summer there's no telling where Harden is going.

IMO we don't need a third star. We need another long wing defender that can regularly hit outside shots and a true back-up PG who can play with Maxey when Harden is on the bench. I don't think major surgery is needed on this team to get them to the level of Boston, only minor tweaks.

Probably easier to get a star who wants out than both of those. It’s like acquiring Derrick White and Devin Vassell. Probably not easy.
I think Morey’s plan is third star for Harris and Maxey. I think he will pull it off.

I like Ingram here. Pels are done with Zion + CJ specifically Zion. Yes he’s injury prone but Ingram + Embiid and hopefully Harden signs on is awesome.
The sooner we move on from Harris the better. Did you know you could get 6x Harrison Barnes’s sized contracts instead of a Tobithus lmfao. It’s been the worst deal we’ve ever made not close.

Well obviously we wouldn’t make a move like that if Harden leaves (which I don’t think he will). He has to have some leverage for contract negotiations this summer. My guess is he signs a 4 year deal with the 4th year being partially guaranteed.

Just stop it, KAT sucks at the 4, hes a 5.
We need an Ingram type of player or two good 3+D athletic wings.
Also we need Embiid and Harden to be the leaders they sould be as 1 and 2 and take over games when it matters the most.
If they dont turn that corner we aint winning no championship no matter what.

Ingram’s value is probably too rich for what we can give up. They wouldn’t even trade him for Durant…
Towns is viewed as a negative contract at this point. He’s as much of a PF as Horford is and would be able to start next to Embiid with the spacing he provides. Plus, we’d have our backup C, rebounding, and 3-point shooting problems all solved.

Re: Game 60: Heat vs 76ers.
KAT isn’t a negative contract. I just think his days as the #1 guy are done. He’s still worth the max on the right team imo because of the leverage he creates on offense.
The guy is a whiner and has loser energy tho. I think he’s the last guy we’d want to get us past round 2.

Re: Game 60: Heat vs 76ers.
My question is what 'third star' are we getting for Harris and Maxey? I think MIN is going to be gunshy after getting raped by Ainge and ruining their team. If they break that group up by trading KAT, it will cost us a hell of a lot more than Harris and Maxey. Besides, I'm doubtful that he is the missing piece to a championship team here.
Why must it always be major surgery, which rarely helps in situations like ours. More than a third star, we need length and athleticism, a legit backup PG, and mainly a new coach who understands how the game is played in this century, and who might know how to integrate young talent into the rotation to develop during the RS instead of burying them on the bench and dumping them.

I think a sneaky storyline is that Niang is weirdly important to our team and he’s sucked in Feb. He’s shooting 27% from 3 in the past month & if he’s not hitting at a 40%+ clip he’s essentially useless.

Yes we've heard your brilliant idea in the other thread, start Maxey and let Harden come off the bench, a recipe for a championship right? puh lease...

Re: Game 60: Heat vs 76ers.
Harris + Maxey for a third star who is not an injury prone (important) or a couple of quality wings and back up PG.
Any of the above is better than Harris + the not making the leap Maxey.
It sickens me to see how much Harris makes relative to his production on court.
Of course, there is a chance both Harden/Biid walk and this team rebuilds with Maxey as the main guy...

He's who he is. The sooner we know that, the better.
Come playoffs, you will notice that's the norm for him which is basically unplayable.

I generally agree but I hope they won't have to include Maxey for the latter. Harris's nearly $40 million coming off the books in 2024 should prove to be valuable enough on its own to move for those pieces we need in the offseason.

It’s why we got George, Utah knew he was unplayable in the postseason, but at his current salary he add regular season value against less long and athletic teams.
It’s really time for some quiet tournaments amongst the bench group for minutes, some have been putrid lately.

Lol it was just an idea, thinking out loud and outta the box. Obviously i dont think its the magic solution for anything. Just an idea i had comparing our players to the Spurs big 3 because they really are very similar in their skillsets.
Harden doesn't have nearly the same winning mentality than Ginobli tho, so a move like that is basically imposible to do.

Outside of Embiid the Sixers are a small and and unathletic team. They keep ignoring those problems. You need a couple athletes in the 6'4 tio 6'8 range that are good players. We have had one guy that fits that mold in the post process years and we had our best team with him (an eyelash from beating the eventual champs) and we let him walk. He also hit the winning shot against us last night in case you don't know who I am talking about. Our best athlete pound for pound might be Melton who is like 6'2.

Not in our cards.
These type of players are very expensive for all teams are looking for these type of guys. And even when they have them, they still stash them. Look at how many picks OG or Mikal were getting during the deadline.
Heat is actually a team I find that we’re trying to follow in terms of size and defense. Both us and the Heat are leaders in zone defense frequency. And our size is very similar (not exactly the same). We’re small but mostly switchable while we always have an athlete or 2 athletes on the court whether its melton, biid, mcdaniels or Reed.
I think for this game the issue was offense. Its very hard to impossible to win games with 20 turnovers. Sixers plays like a virgin seeing a naked lady for the first time. Shades of 2018 playoffs.
Harden and Embiid has to be sharp. And yet you see both guys being too careless with the ball. I think it was in the Celts game when Harden threw a behind the back pass in crunch time that luckily didnt end up as a steal. While Biid had that crazy pass crosscourt that luckily Melton was able to grab but it allowed the Heat to rotate back to Harris at the left corner.
Our best athlete is McClung
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

No reason to want our own team to suffer. Terrible terrible terrible with some shame
Stop the drama bro
Why wouldn't I want the true identity of this team to be realized, good or bad? If the team struggles mightily than we know for sure the chances of going deep in the playoffs are slimmer than thought and the wool can be removed .
