Re: 1st Round : #3 Sixers - #6 Nets
Embiid got 8 TOs, 2 of them in garbage. Most of it in the first half at the left and right block. Looking by that stats you’ll get the impression that doubling Embiid is working, and Sixers wants teams to double Embiid.
As soon as Biid started to operate at the elbow in the second half, it’s over for the Nets.

Harden has played 70+ minutes in this Nets series and he has not gotten 1 free throw.

I know Claxton is not really a good matchup for Embiid, but these doubles are leaving often times Tyrese Maxey wide open on the perimeter. Their defensive scheme sucks and is giving us very open looks that you wouldn’t expect a playoff NBA team to see.

This series is zero prep for the Celtics. Not saying I wish it was the Heat instead but the Nets are child's play. I guess you can say the same about the Hawks, they are about as lifeless as the Nets.

Right now, we just need to end it quick, get some rest and be healthy.
Most of our preparation came during the offseason (Doc talked about this during the offseason), when we watched tapes of the top teams and how they played against us. And this is why we’re much better in handling double teams and executing in crunch time.

If he can play like that against Boston, being that '4th option' and crashing the offensive glass, we have a really good chance of beating them. But we need the regular season Harden and the Maxey we've seen in the first two games.
My concern with Harden is that the heavy minutes in the regular season are catching up with him. They'll never blame Glenn for this, instead just burying 'playoff Harden', but I believe it's a real thing.

Re: 1st Round : #3 Sixers - #6 Nets
Game 2 adjustments by Nets' Vaughn:
- Dinwiddie spent more time defending Maxey;
- Bridges took on Harden, in Game 1 he was more focused on Harris and Maxey;
- Cam Johnson switched from Tucker to Harris;
- O' Neale defended Embiid a lot more;
- DFS left Harden for Tucker.
-In almost six minutes guarded by Dinwiddie, Maxey shot 2/5 with a 41.6 eFG%.
-Harden attempted a single shot in the almost six minutes guarded by Bridges, missing it.
-Embiid shot 2/5 and turned the ball over 4 times when guarded by O'Neale.

Don't know. He only played 58 of the 82 games this season, and just had 9 days of rest before the start of the play-offs because he was rested the last 2 games of RS.
Would he really be tired?
He will have some bad shooting nights, from time to time. Problem is, we don't have a reliable other scorer outside Joel to make up for it during those nights. Tobias won't (not against good teams) and Maxey probably still is 1 offseason away.

More like Playoff Tobi in full effect. He’s been real good the last few playoff rounds. The question will be if we can rally when he has his inevitable 5 pt game against the Celtics.

I think I'm comfortable in saying we can't max Harden in the offseason. His hamstring injury clearly affected him more than I thought it would. He doesn't have the burst to get to the rim and it will only get worse.
He's still great but that really hurts his production especially in the playoffs

Re: 1st Round : #3 Sixers - #6 Nets
I think the only reason to max Harden is if he can come up big in games where Maxey and/or Embiid are not scoring and need him as the first or second option. He has to prove he is worth a max and not simply an elite playmaker. This series is not the one we can evaluate that in. The Celtics will be. This means he has to make his shots and as Embiid pointed out he has to be enough of a scoring threat to spread the floor. There’s no way to know if he’s truly healthy but that can’t be a cop out anymore. My assumption tells me he is at this point. He has to be the one that wins at least a game or two against the Celtics and then the Bucks in a dominant fashion.

I thought the thing with Harden in Game 2 was that he saw Maxey had it going, and he was able to get Paul Reed going with the bench, and he took a step back. Like I said before, Houston Harden could go 3/13 in a quarter, and then work himself into a good game. It happens with jumpshooting, and there were some clear calls that weren't called on his drives. The fact that he's still trying to drive, and the fact that he said his legs are fine, make me feel like he's healthy enough. He's just not adjusting well to how the game is being called. Refs are allowing the smaller team to be physical, and their main objective is to take away the paint after Embiid. His ball handling and turnovers were the biggest concern. I'm okay with a star player limiting themselves, when they know they have help.

Also, trust me I see and appreciate the contribution that Tucker is providing in this series. And I get that a change/adjustment is not needed right now in a series where Philly should clearly win. But the Melton option should definitely be an option for this type of defensive scheme instead of Tucker. I like that Tucker is attempting shots, that's step 1. But I feel like Melton and his secondary playmaking, and driving ability could be an additional way to unlock offense. First half, they weren't shooting well enough. Adjust by adding another capable option with a willing trigger.

Tobias was good against Toronto last year.
But he was mediocre at best against Miami last year, even if you want to count his empty calorie scoring when Jo was out.

Re: 1st Round : #3 Sixers - #6 Nets
Harden looks pretty good to me. One thing I’ve noticed is when he’s had some time off his ball handling seems to suffer for a few games. But it always comes back. He’s struggled with it the first two games but when he’s got it back I think the finishing at the rim will improve. He’s working his way back and the Nets don’t require him to throttle up too much too fast.

Re: 1st Round : #3 Sixers - #6 Nets
Harden still has some burst, but he seems to have lost all his lift. He cant score anymore going to the rim. Thats bad, hes now just a jumpshooter. When his stepback 3s are falling hes good, when it isnt he isnt a threat offensively anymore. I dont know how much money we should offer him: hes a great pg, but hes not a triple threat anymore.
