I like Jalon Moore in a TJ Warren kind of way. He just gets buckets.

At pick #37, if we come away with Will Riley or Mackenzie Mgbako, I will be ecstatic.

Will Riley is out. Not a top 100 recruit coming into college which appears to be a prerequisite for Morey and Co in the second round.

Wish we could get Derik Queen and start the Embiid replacement prep. 15 rebs (9 def, 6 off) last night. Gives effort which would be a major changeup from our C position.

Wait, what?

Will Riley is a 5 star recruit. 20th ranked player in the 2024 class.

Baba Miller is a deeper sleeper at this point. Passes the look test (6'10.5 bare footed, 7'2 wingspan). Extremely fluid athlete for his size and handles the ball well. Generates assists, blocks shots well, rebounds pretty well. Form looks good.

He's probably needs another year at a bigger school who will help fill out his frame and let him improve upon efficiency stats. Needs to get his FTr higher. Wish he were generating above 2 STL%. But very intriguing prospect.

Really is. That's the Lakers prioritizing a 25-year old generational talent they hope will spend his career in L.A. as opposed to a 38-39 year old who might bolt at the first sign of not being catered to. Good for the Lakers.

I have to be honest, to me Davis is a 100% better fit with James than Luka will be. Is James all of a sudden going to be happy playing primarily off-ball, because Luka's entire value rests on him having the ball? I need to see this work before believing that it can with any consistency.

I don't think he'll get drafted, but he's a guy I'd 100% want as an undrafted FA. Tough dude who gets boards. Shot 35% from 3 last year and has been improving to around 75% FT so there is upside as a corner three guy. Interested to see what the wingspan is since he's only 6'7.

Matthew Cleveland is pretty mid, but I wouldn't mind getting him on a 2-way after he goes undrafted. Former 5 star recruit. Great size and good athleticism.

This team has been so good with later picks that we MUST get back into this draft.

This was a premature statement.

Sag for Flagg is back on the menu boys! Let’s do this!!!

Flagg is obviously #1 but I don’t know what we’d do if we got any other pick. I just did a sim and got the second pick. Harper I guess makes the most sense. I really have reservations with Bailey. Then you have a bunch of guards. We need someone 3-5 in this draft if we land the pick.

At that spot you just take best talent and figure it out later.
always a jump shot away.

yeah it seems like the hype on this draft has begun to die out a bit.
Bailey is the kinda guy you either look like a genius and hope the NBA spacing opens up his game or hes Jabari Smith with less defense

with our "future" being two small guards it leaves a wing or a big more than likely too.

He's so unbelievably good, but a little mechanical in his movements. I absolutely need to know if he's 6'5 without shoes. If not, he's a hard sell in the top 5.

Edgecombe reminds me of a (hopefully) taller Malik Monk who plays excellent defense and has more on ball responsibilities. He might be a top 5 regardless of his height tbh. He does everything great.

Rarely been this reliant on measurements before for a draft, but it matters for so many guys.

The guys I'm near 100% certain of stardom given their measurements check out:

Cooper Flagg
VJ Edgecombe
Jeremiah Fears
Derik Queen

Guys I'm a little shaky about for a variety of reasons:

Dylan Harper - I'm not 100% convinced of that jumper. Looks strange and he's sub 75% FT. Loser team with another top pick. Think Ben, Markelle, etc

Ace Bailey - Allergic to contact, loves midrange, allergic to generating assists, 68% FT. Loser team with another top pick.

Kasparas Jakucionis - Looks smaller than he is on the court, not terribly athletic, but otherwise love him.

Tre Johnson - bad FTr, bad defensive stats, bad team.

If we get 2 - 6 I'm open to trading it away for a king's ransom. Agree that after Flagg I'm not sure any of the top guys are a good fit.

If Harper really has a 6'10" wingspan then you can play him at SF. But it would be a small 1 - 3 with Maxey and McCain.

But I wouldn't worry too much about fit. If there's a bonafide star you take him. Otherwise trade out.

Unfortunately it's pretty clear the measurements for Edgecombe and Fears are NOT going to check out. They're basically Maxey and McCain size.

And I don't want Queen anyway.

The top of this draft, aside from Flagg, doesn't look great for us.
