Boston fan, here in peace. Just caught up with the draft day news, and was pretty impressed by the moves you guys made.
Seems to be a clear and coherant plan in place.

Doesn't make me particularly happy, of course, but...

Yep

Only frustrating thing is that they had the blueprint 2 years ago & tore it up

Tonight, #sixers become a way better regular season team. Like that 2017-2018 Sixers squad.

The next step is to find ways on how to be better in the play-offs. Unlike that 2017-2018 Sixers squad.

You guys did well also. Another wing who can score. Maybe a potential replacement for Hayward.

Is Jerami Grant out of the Sixers price range?

Definitely. He opted out of a 9.3 player option and he's for sure going to get more than that.

Per SixersAdam on Twitter, we have a 5.9 million MLE that can be split up among players and then it's just min deals. Apparently we have a 7-8 mil trade exception as well but someone more knowledgeable than me will have to confirm.

IMO we should target Baynes for the backup big spot, but I'd be fine with Nerlens if he wants to come back. Marc Gasol would be a great option too if he doesn't want to go to Spain.

I'd also try to get Ersan back for the min or close to it. He was super productive for us in similar lineups to what we'll be running this year.

Simmons/Milton/Maxey
Curry/Thybulle/Joe
Green/Korkmaz
Harris/Ilyasova/Scott
Embiid/Baynes/Reed

Zhaire, Ferguson, and Shayok battle for the last spot (maybe keep Shayok on 2-way)

That's a pretty well balanced squad with solid prospect development available at most positions. Most of the guys can slide up or down a position, giving you a lot of lineup flexibility.

Not saying we should trade them but..

How soon can we trade Maxey and Danny Green?

If I'm trading anyone it would be Green, not Maxey yet lol.

That means Maxey is an attractive asset.

I think you can get Lavine with..
Green’s expiring
Maxey
2021 1st
Tobi
Trade exemption

If you get Lavine, you can either chose to hold your position and compete with Lavine, Ben and Biid or trade Lavine to the Rockets by adding another 1st.

A lot was fixed but a lot of guys need to go, 16 guys already in the roster if they sign Joe and Reed, to whatever deal, top is 17 anyway

Curry-Milton-Maxey
Green-Thybulle-Ferguson-Smith-Joe
Simmons-Korkmaz-Shayok
Harris-Scott-Reed
Embiid-Pelle

Smith is super out
Ferguson is bad, Shayok dunno what kinda deal he got

But the needs a PG and bench bigs, plus hopefully another SF

There's no way this works salarywise and it would also likely violate the Stepien rule (*on second thought I think I'm wrong about the Stepien rule). It's also a tremendous downgrade to the team.

It makes zero sense for the Sixers to pay what it would cost to dump Tobias - you'd be giving up assets to significantly downgrade our on-court production in year 1 and he'd be cheaper to move after one year. His contract is unmovable.

Oh no.. not just lavine.

It’s more like..

Sixers receives:
Lavine
Otto porter (expiring who can just walk)
Satoransky (a bad contract? 10m per year that expires in 2022)

Bulls receives:
Tobias Harris
Tyrese Maxey
Danny Green’s expiring
2021 1st round pick
Trade Exemption
Zhaire Smith

Not possible? Sorry not familiar with the rules

Not sure we'd have to include either. Still have Tobi's contract. Have 2021 first, could include any one of Shake, Zhaire, Mike Scott as well...

We need to have some young assets on hand.

I think they've set it up so that if they want to do a trade later in the offseason or Midseason it's possible. Even trading Ben is still an option and the team would fit well if we had Harden instead of Ben.

Am I wrong or we're really close to the Tax Line now?
Are we still hard-capped?

We are still at 137.5M with 12 players and without the rookie and other cap holds. Luxury Tax is at 132M.

So we're a Scott dump away.
I don't care for Josh's money , but I'd like to have te Full MLE.
Is this possible?

In fa we have mle (5.9 or so) i believe.
I read trade exception by horford trade heren in forum, but cant find that online.

If khorkmaz has some value i would package him with z. Smith for pf/c if possible (Scott could be added). Someone like b. Clarke, mo bamba, poetl would be great/ok.
Curious for Who we use mle (big or backup pg).
And further vet min.
Will pelle/shayok still get contracts?
Will noel be back? Are there still big trades upcoming?

See it now as

Simmons, maxey, (milton)
Curry/milton, i. Joe
D. Green, thybulle, ferguson
Harris, Scott, reed (simmons)
Embiid, ......, pelle

Harris makes better sense being pf. Besides Simmons embiid and Harris 2 lights out shooters is the best thing.

You still have to account Maxey's cap hold and not sure if we have to hold Burks' cap hold if we want to sign him. So we probably need to dump Scott and Smith's contracts and decline Korkmaz and Pelle's team option to use the non-tax payer MLE.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
