Re: Playoffs!?
The amazing thing about this Miami team is how different guys have stepped up throughout the playoffs, tonight it was Duncan Robinson. They were physical all night, and wore the Nuggets down like a prize fighter. Bam has been great all post season, and was huge tonight.

Re: Playoffs!?
So playoff Jimmy has no help or he does? Right now he is getting carried by the likes of Bam, Vincent and Martin . This silly narrative he is surrounded by a bunch of scrubs is so insulting to his teammates

I don't know that it is. Miami has beaten both Milwaukee and Boston. We all had them along with our team beating Denver in a hypothetical Finals setting. Miami just finds a way. I think a lot of us are still getting it wrong. This didn't feel like a lock for Denver even after game 1. I picked Miami at the start and I'll die on that hill.

Re: Playoffs!?
Heat role players just keep stepping up...They have a bunch of 3 pt shooters who can knock down shots consistently which no other teams can match especially this year.
Vincent, Martin, Duncan Robinson, Strus, Herro due to be back soon. Not to mention Kyle Lowry and Kevin Love can knock down 3's better than most bench players.
No other playoff teams have more than 2 3pt specialists on the bench. Heat have all of them.

When you continually beat teams that are more physically talented than you, your winning has to be driven by something other than physical factors.

Re: Playoffs!?
It's a make or miss league, Miami's shooting performance in game 1 vs tonight is like night and day. Now that they have home court advantage it'll be interesting to see if they can pull off the upset.

It doesn't matter if Heat lose 1-4 from here, they've already won the moral war, Jimmy has been able to win a game in the Denver Altitude, this is amazing feat that no other team was able to achieve in this playoffs.

This was my thinking as well, that they live and die with the 3, but the thing that makes it potentially sustainable is how many places they are getting those 3's. They've got a half dozen players who can get on a heater at seemingly any time, and Herro can add to that if he's in any kind of game shape.
Not sure I've ever seen a team with as many 'role players' making monster contributions in the biggest spots. Bam has been great, but Jimmy has been very spotty, but has played the role of distributor beautifully. And when the Heat are shooting like they were last night, look out.
They made Jokic a scorer last night, taking away the passing lanes and being very aggressive. Denver is at its best when he is a secondary scorer and more of a distributor, and I would expect Malone to focus on that.

Re: Playoffs!?
This year was a really good chance for Joel to win his chip. Miami and Denver are good, but we were talented enough to beat them both. Too bad he turned into a turtle.

Re: Playoffs!?
The Heat outscored Denver by 10 in the fourth quarter of game 1, and by 11 in the fourth quarter of game 2.
When both teams are turning on the juice to close out a game or mount a comeback, the Heat are beating Denver decidedly. That's very likely telling of where this series is going.

Re: Playoffs!?
I was listening to Raja Bell’s podcast after game 1 & he talked about how the Suns defensive strategy was to make Kobe lose faith in his teammates. Let him get 40 or 50 but shut down the role players so that Kobe feels like he has to win by himself. Jokic is a very different personality but I’ll be curious how the Heat continue to defend him.

And this is why we will continue to lose for the foreseable future. After all these years and the only thing that we still care about is "talent".

That's the hallmark of a winner, even if they go down 4-1, they are already the most impressive team by far, with their mediocre talent and all. They are 1st when it comes to mentality.

I fully admit it might be me, but Jokic looked like he was about to have a hissy fit as he double timed it off the court last night.
