Bottom line I think is he's afraid to make a bad deal, because Hinkie was known for making great trades, he put so much shade on Hinkie since he's been here, and he knows it would be a bad look making a bad deal after talking down Hinkie all summer.

Part of me would have preferred he make a bad deal versus this which makes him look like he has no idea what he is doing. Other 29 teams see this and see a guy in over his head.

tbf yeah you don't want to make a deal just to make a deal...thats how you get **** in the ass.

however, that is why you also don;t OPENLY SHOP the guy either. sitting him and sending him home was a **** stupid idea...ESPECIALLY since Jah getting a DNP-CD wasn't exactly out of the ordinary. Holy ****. It reminds me of when Ed Snider (RIP) came out and said "yeah we gonna trade Iverson"...killing his value. Its funny as hell that running your mouth to the media is what made you play yourself especially since that was one of the reasons Hinkie was hated. Good job dork.

He can always blame Hinkie for putting him in a weak position like he did about the logjam. Dude is just a clown, had to use his dad to get a job. And he can't do squat with all the assets he has been handed to on a silver platter.

I have a hunch that the deadline will pass, he will still be here, he or Brett Brown will say publicly that the deals were insufficient. Then Woj will report a specific offer on the table and this board will be incredulous that he didn't accept it.

Reading the tea leaves, this just reeks of BC's ego getting in the way and trying to win a lopsided trade in a situation where that is impossible to do, and I don't think out of principle because of his ego, that he will trade Okafor. I can see him as a GM who lets personal agendas get in the way of trades.

This is **** embarrassing man. The Colangelos are a joke. Seriously, Jahlill Okafor is not exactly my favorite player in the NBA but the guy is a **** human being and by all accounts a good teammate and kid. He deserves better than this. Hinkie would be getting barbecued by the media if the shoe was on the other foot. You want to talk about treating people like assets? Not valuing the players as people? This is a prime example. Real talk, **** this guy. Above all the other series of embarrassments that have occurred over the last 3 days, treating Jah like dog crap disgusts me the most.

And he's still going to make a bad deal in the end - just now with a mountain of embarrassing stories along the way.

Can you really get **** in the ass by trading your 4th string center? Just **** trade the guy. If he ends up being better on some other team who cares, he wasn't going to play here. Make the trade, blame Hinkie for making a bad pick and putting you in a bad spot and move on.

This should have been done months ago.

The situation with Okafor was inevitable the night Hinkie drafted him and didn't trade him.....not sure why people are blaming Colangelo.

because of his actions (and lack thereof) over the course of the last week.

You'd be killing Hinkie if did all of this (and of course people would be defending him to...to be fair)

Colangelo has had a longer time to trade Okafor than Hinkie did.

Because Hinkie paid the price for Okafor with his job. Its BCs job now and its basically the only task he has had all year but he continues to **** it up.
