Lol. I think that comp is better than the "skinnier Isaiah Cannan" one in my head. Chad Ford thinks we should take him at 3, so there's that.

Plenty of short shooting guards available or acquirable, no need to draft one #3 overall. Gary Harris can be acquired, and there's your short low BBall IQ shooting guard everyone seems to want to play with Simmons instead of a high BBall IQ PG. If you do acquire a starting PG that can shoot like Lowry then you have a tiny backcourt with Monk and that's just stupid. Avoid all short shooting guards this high in the draft.

D'Aaron Fox wound up being 15 pounds lighter than Kentucky listed him at. Can we agree that Malik Monk looks closer to 185 than he does 200 pounds?

Why are we comparing Monk to all of these undrafted/2nd round scrubs? He's talked about in the top 10 for a reason. Playing basically the highest level of competition in terms of conference and matchups and put up monster games. He is not chasson randle for god's sake.

Oh snap, we're bringing Davon Reed of Miami in for a workout tomorrow!

I really like him. All those games watching Bruce Brown, Reed really flashed on both ends of the floor. It's nice to get a line on him so that if he goes undrafted, we could be on the shortlist of teams he accepts calls from.

Malik Monk was the one prospect that I'm not worried about coming in for a workout and fooling them into drafting him with the #3 pick. Every time I hear an evaluator talk about him, they talk about how small he looks in person. The 76ers just got 1st hand looks at what an under 6'3 SG, with no PG skills looks like. Colangelo may not be great, but he isn't dumb enough to waste that pick like that.

Ben Simmons is the PG so he doesn't need PG skills.

The church of DraftEx members should be happy about this story. Just what I expected. A week before the draft Ainge starts prepping his fanbase for the inevitable. He's not taking Markelle Fultz, because he knows Josh Jackson is the better prospect. Fultz will be a 76er barring a trade... Feels like 2015 all over again for me.

What's the chance the Sixers draft Monk whether its staying at the 3rd pick or moving down? I saw the Sixers wanted to see Monk run off screens and making plays while on the move. Simmons, Embid, Colangelo and Brett Brown were there to watch. Ive heard people say Monk is a good fit to perfect fit for the Sixers.

I don't hate Fultz at #3. It's basically like getting Jamal Murray (skilled scorer with ordinary athleticism) with added PG skills.

I think Ainge and Magic are just yanking each others chain. Its just funny how the media hasnt said a word about Jackson to Bos till LAL comes out theyre interested in him.

Monk at 3 is very doubtful; Chad Ford wrote recently some GMs have Luke Kennard higher than Monk and there is inevitably a rough consensus in the league over players. Sub in the name Kennard at three and see how it looks.

Monk is a guy that should be drafted at the back end of the top ten; if we traded back he would be a great fit for us. Problem is most realise the prospects from 2 - 9 or so are roughly comparable in value hence the reason why you now hear the Lakers also want to move back in the draft. Say what you want about the kings, but having two picks in the top 10 in this draft is an excellent position to be in, if only that lakers pick had conveyed :(

for monk to be taken at #3, he needs to be a generational scorer, whatever that means. odds of him becoming a generational scorer is pretty unlikely. no way in hell do the sixers take him at #3

Chad Ford is Danny Ainge's personal lap dog. He doesn't have to speculate on what Boston is going to do. Ainge gives him news to break. I think the timing of this is to condition the fanbase to accept that they aren't taking Fultz.
