Simmons to Minnesota -> Minnesota warchest + salary package to New Orleans -> Brandon Ingram to Philadelphia

We fapped over Brandon hard here...he literally has all the tools to be a super star

You wanted Morey to take the Levert/Brogdon package and look at the Pacers now...

Damaged good is a player who no longer has it physically. He has it physically, he's just out there.

Damaged goods is any player who does not suit up, either for physical, mental or just bat **** crazy reasons (a/k/a Kyrie).

If he doesn't get vaxed we could end up in the semi's facing Brooklyn and watching our team lose b/c Kyrie sits half the series. It would be insane to trade for him. Thank god you aren't our GM and Morey is.

This is incorrect. Players visiting NYC do NOT have the same restriction. So if we got Kyrie and he decided to play, he'd be available for every game, including playoff games in NYC.

Does Kyrie even want to play basketball anymore? I doubt we’d get 10 full games out of him before he quit on the team in one way or another.

I do Kyrie for Harris no question. But Simmons, I pass.

He quit in the middle of the playoffs with a twisted ankle. That dude is not a basketball player.

It's a helluva fantasy. We win that trade hands down, but I can't see Portland giving up that much draft capital when they seem to be on the verge of a rebuild.

Is the McCollum medical thing going to hurt his career going forward? If not, he can be the return. Just get Greg Brown coming back (elite longterm PF project) and call it a day.

Yup. Ingram has been doing what he’s been doing with some of the worst spacing in the NBA since he’s been with the Pels. When I say some of the worst I mean either than Sexton, Ingram had the worst spacing in the NBA last year for 20+ppg scorers.

Give this man an ability to play in an offense with Embiid and Curry, he would take his offense to another level. He has to work so hard for offense right now, that wouldn’t be the case with this Philly team.

As a huge Ingram I would love if it ends up at Philly.

Brandon Ingram is contributing to the spacing problems in New Orleans this year, though. He's shooting significantly less than he did last year. Walker and Graham are the only dudes playing 20+ mpg roles for them that are letting it fly.

Even Lonzo called him out in the mic'd up segment. "We know BI is trying to get to the mid-range"

He shot 6 3s per game last year. He’s shooting 5 3s per game this year. I wouldn’t say that is significantly less. NAW is shooting 30% from 3, Graham is shooting 34% from 3. Defenses are hoping those guys shoot a ton from 3.

There is just no way you can watch a Pels game and come away thinking Ingram is making spacing worse for that team.

The amount of work it takes for him to get a shot off is ridiculous. And that’s because outside of JV, there is no one with any kind of offensive talent on that team.

So you think BI can be the shot creator we need and the second option on a championship roster?
Because if he is the third option we still have to bring a guard who is the second option and I'm not sure Harris, Maxey (would have to be traded in that scenario) and whatever else we have can bring that.

2020: 35% of his fga's were threes
2021: 34.1% of his fga's were threes
this year: 26.5% of his fga's are threes

2020: just 31.7% of his buckets inside the arc were assisted
2021: just 36.8% of his buckets inside the arc were assisted
this year: 42.8% of his buckets inside the arc are assisted

Brandon Ingram sucks this year. He's regressed as a spacer. He's regressed scoring off the dribble in the halfcourt. All while being a pathetic defensive player.

I'm a Brandon Ingram fan, but he's been objectively bad this year. He's definitely part of the problem in New Orleans right now. He's their Tobias Harris right now.

Can Simmons be that guy? that is the question teams will be asking themselves when trading similar value for him.

I talked to a poster just last month who wanted to trade him for Kevin Porter Jr and didn't understand why I wasn't buying his Anthony Edwards comparisons.

But I was sort of torn on Levert and Brogdon plus a bunch of picks or waiting. Which is probably why waiting is still the best bet these non-star deals will still be there 5 months from now.
