I forgot when there is a tie, is it a coin flip between the teams or head to head win/lost record.

59.8% chance getting top 3, better% than Suns.

18.4% chance getting no.1 pick, better% than Lakers

I like the Lakers pick to convery this year. Having two top 5 picks puts you on a very powerful spot by draft night. Powerful enough to get us a star player alongside Embiid and Simmons.

You can also give out false signals that could lead to teams overpaying to move up in the draft.

There are like a hundred teams all between 19 and 21 wins, it's insane. Who knows how the season will finish up.

I actually wanted Sacramento to beat the Suns so the Suns can have a better hold of the 2 spot. The Suns winning hurt us for that Lakers pick.

If Sixers and Kings finish some combo of 3th/4th worst, the odds to get the #1 overall pick wil be 27.5%, higher than the Nets pick....LOL

In that scenario, the odds to get one of the first three pick is around 71%.

I wanted Sac to lose. If we don't get the Lakers pick this year, then we will get it next year.....But the Sac pick could actually land us top 3 if the kings really play bad so that is the pick I want.

The Lakers pick is an afterthought to me.

Yup. We should all be rooting for the Kings to completely implode.

Let the Lakers do whatever they want. If they dont convey, we get the pick fully unprotected next season.

It wasn't the worst thing the Kings lost. I just prefer the Suns to maintain a firm hold on the 2 spot. I don't want the Lakers getting in the 2 spot during the lottery.

I would much rather have the Lakers pick this year. The 2018 would really be a downer even if we are picking in the top 5. I hear they have nothing but big men as the top prospects in 2018. Doncic is like the only big time guy who may be a good fit for us.

Sac losses are priority number one. The Lakers might even get a few more wins now that DLo is back. They didn't play that bad against the Celtics.

Yea id rather have it as well, but Id MUCH rather have the Kings blow up and end up as high as possible in the lottery. We can swap with them without any restrictions......the %'s of the LA pick are still restricted by the top 3 protection.

Im looking at it as adding 1 of these prospects w/ Embiid, Simmons will be great. Sure Id love to add 2, but we have been playing pretty good ball lately. Adding Simmons and 1 of the top 6-8 prospects in this class will likely only make us better next season.
Add in some other additions via trade/FA and we could have something special. Sprinkle in an unprotected Lakers pick AND Sacramento pick to our arsenal and we have some serious ammunition to make a big time trade if the opportunity arises.

About that 2018 class. Our big man "log jam" is an issue now. But in 1-2 years, who knows what it is. Both Noel and Okafor could realistically be gone by this Summer either via trade or FA. Suddenly that log jam is no more. Having the ability to add 1-2 likely top 10 talents to an already promising core the next 2 years could be huge for sustaining a winning team or making the "big deal" to put us over the hump.

If anyone is looking for reading material which if nothing else willmake you smile, go onto the kings message board of late and read kings fans trying to now rationalize that, even with the pick swap, tanking is in their best interest, and that they should look to move cousins...

The kings have been bad for a long time making a conscious effort to be good. Imagine if they put their minds to being bad?

Well its true. The organization made some ill advised, desperation moves to try and quickly assemble a better team around a disgruntled Cousins and it blew up in their face. The GM has drafted poorly and they have not developed any of the picks.
They now have limited assets outside of Boogie and their own picks are handicapped across the next few years.

Moving Cousins for multiple picks and/or young players may be the only way they can clean house and inject some young talent to the team quickly.

If they win games this year, they risk losing the pick to Chicago. If they tank, all they have to worry about is losing draft position to us.

Yeah, the only team I root for the Suns against now is Sac.

IMO the Lakers and Kings will be looking to keep their picks this year. Their GMs aren't really that stupid, either team doesn't want to lose out on top end talents this draft. It's their only way of adding as they are not a top destinations for key FAs.

The Lakers have more to lose then the Kings. They can lose 2 first as the Kings lose only 1. I see they Lakers finishing top 3 worst, only luck would have them keeping their pick.

I see the Kings finishing top 10 worst to keep their pick but am rooting more for them to keep losing so that gives us a better combine chance of leapfrogging the Lakers and pushing them down to four.

We haven't had a exciting ending to a season like this in over a decade even with a losing record. The team is trending up and is very exciting to watch grow. We are also awaiting the debut of Simmons, who can be a star. Don't know about you guys but I am excited as heck to see how the season finishes for these 3 teams.

Ideally, LAL finishes 3rd (gives us a 53.1% chance of receiving their pick), and us/SAC finishing 4th/5th. The exciting part is that this scenario isn't so far-fetched! The last thing that needs to happen is Boston waking up and realizing they can win the East this year if they cough up those BKN picks for Boogie.

Ideal scenario is that we are 1 and the kings are 2 and the Lakers are 3. Unfortunately, that is not likely. This is a loaded draft at 1 and 2.

Why would that be ideal? Ideal for me would be Sixers 1 Lakers 4 and Kings lose their pick to Chicago. I don't care how we get the top pick whether it's with our pick or Sacramento's. I don't want the Kings getting a good player so they can continue to stink until 2019 so we get their pick. And why would you want the Lakers picking 3rd? We wouldn't get their pick. I also don't think it's loaded top 2. It's loaded top 6 or 8 depending on the prospects you like. I just want to be picking in the he top 6 but would take the top pick so we can choose whoever we want.
