And we already have speculation about... guess who? The Lakers swooping in to "save" Memphis from the Morant spectacle. No doubt the league office will intervene. On LA's behalf.

If they win this year that will mean that two of James' "titles" were Adam Silver manufacturing jobs.
Wonder if Silver will get a ring.

I'm not worried, Lebron still needs to achieve 3-peat to be in the GOAT conversation, can he do it?

I'm slow could you elaborate on the two please. Thank you.

Actually three, if you include the Green suspension. The 'bubble' joke that should never have even happened, and this year hypothetically. They were left for dead when suddenly they somehow magically turned the most toxic 'asset' in the league into real contributors.

Has any player more drastically altered his career legacy over 5 consecutive quarters of basketball than Jason Tatum? Hats off to him.

No way you can give up on Ja right now. I think you suspend him for half a season and only reinstate him after he demonstrated progress & commitment to being a different person. But he is only 23 & absolutely capable to changing his behavior. It’s a bumpy road but Memphis has gotta ride this one out.

I think they're a potential target for a Tobias trade. Ja might be sitting out most of next season. They have Kennard, Adams, and Brandon Clarke with 2+ years (Clarke 4) on their deals and making $12 mil a year. If Ja is out, we could take those three and a first and give them a tank commander in Tobias.
Not the best deal, but that gives us draft equity, the best volume 3pt shooter in the league, an excellent backup center to Joel, and unfortunately damaged goods in Clarke. I doubt he'll come back to being 100%, but he would have been an amazing get prior to his achilles injury.

Full credit to him for wrecking this series, we'll see if he can take that and run with it.
Did anyone else but me think it was really lame that he knew on the court how many points he had and actually flashed a '50' sign? And that they made sure to leave him in until two minutes left in a game that was over after the 3rd quarter so he could break Curry's record?
Not taking away from his performance, but it was so much about 'me' it just came off as lame to me.

I say let him gloat and put up records against us. This organization deserved to be clowned considering all the idiotic mistakes, including passing up Jayson Tatum when we had a chance to draft him.

Guys for the last and final time we never had a shot at Tatum.
Lonzo was always locked at 2 with the Lakers and Ainge was going to take Tatum at 1 if the deal wasn’t agreed on. It’s super revisionist history but Fultz was the number one pick prospect for good reason. It was only Ainge that rated Tatum that highly league wide.
The bigger miss is Shai imho. But we were always linked to Bridges. We needed a PG and a wing but Bum Simmons was there but for some unknown reason we ended up with neither. Both killed the College circuit.
Guys get your facts straight.

Keep your hat on. Did he win a ring or get back to a place where he was last season?

OK I've seen this stated a few times. So the Lakers were fluid when it came to Ball? Because if not, then what was the reason to trade for the number one pick?
Everything I remember from that draft has the the Lakers locked in on Ball with the number 2 pick.

There have been numerous reports that the Sixers never made any promises about who they would draft before swapping #3 to Boston for #1. Ainge just guessed that Collars and the clown show would be too dumb to draft Tatum so he'd fall to #3 anyway, and he was right.

They did. So Ainge knew that Tatum would still be there at #3 overall since the Sixers were also "locked in" on Fultz.

they were locked in on Ball...unless Fultz was there...which is why we traded up IIRC

It’s not just about what he’s accomplished. It’s about where he was at the end of the 3rd quarter in Game 6. That was an epic choke job up to that point: if that had continued into the 4th quarter and we won, I think that would have seriously branded him as a player you can’t build around. I think most of Boston would have called for him to be traded. That was already the narrative after Game 5.
Instead, he single-handedly turned it around in Game 6, and then dominated Game 7. Sucks for us, but good for him.

The Spurs are like the luckiest franchise ever. But at least Wemby's going out West instead of East.

Predicted he'd be a Spur months ago, him being their new Duncan was always what the NBA wanted. And Pop getting one last gift before he retires in a year or two. I'm fine with him ending up there.
