Sounds like Essengue is cooking again. 13 points in 18 minutes so far.

Read on Twitter

Good breakdown of VJ shooting:
"- Relies heavily on stationary catch-and-shoot — very limited shot versatility
- Didn’t attempt an off-dribble 3 in first 5 games; hit first movement 3 after 17 games, but grew into it over the season.
- The majority of his bad misses came off the dribble
- Shooting mechanics don't lend themselves to shot versatility off movement/dribble. Refinement needed.
- No evidence of deep range — prefers to dribble in for a more manageable look even if open from deep."

Seems like he would need a lot of work to improve his offensive game. I dont think you pick him with the 3rd pick... If we dont want Ace, let´s get Tre, he´s a dynamite shooter who has the athletic ability to became better driving to the basket and defending a bit. I´m tired of drafting people with subpar shooting hope they will develop in that area, it´s not easy.

Another athlete in poor shape. Not sure where I've seen that before.

again all of these guys in theory should improve with some nba training...be it the string beans in Ace, JV and Tre or my fellow fat bois in Kon and Queen.

the key is how much and what it does to them athletically. Some guys can't add to their frames and some are just naturally hefty

If being a top-50 player of all-time is a letdown for this franchise, the #3 pick this year is truly ****.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards
George/Watford/Barlow
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

Good breakdown. As I feared, he is a ROLE PLAYER. No way to VJ at #3 overall.

For every athlete that has had health issues or weight problems they're are ones that overcome it.

Lets not gaslight and act like Jo came close to reaching his promised potential. He was an MVP and had a great 3 year run as a top 1-5 player where that should have lasted another 4-5 more years. His ideal playing weight should have been 260 or max 270 lbs. He was often over 300 which likely contributed to his knee issues.

We went from Brand to Bynum to Embiid. It would be nice to have a player big or not that does not come onto this team with either a preexisting lower body injury or a weight issue. That shouldn't be too much to ask.

He could have been top 10 and had legit goat potential. That is a huge range. And something only his talent allowed.

If someone were to promise we that taking Maluach would guarantee the exact performance, injuries and all, of Joel Embiid, I'd stop discussing the 3rd pick and focus on the second round because he'd easily be the pick for me. Joel was a freak of nature and we only didn't go farther because of insane dysfunction in the front office.

Do you have a source for this?

KOC combine podcast interview with Kon.

And you think this is the organization to manage a player with those potential problems?

If it were a team like the Celtics that's a different story.

I see a guy that's self aware, knows what was a good shot for him within the context of his ability at the time and the context of the team, and knows it's a skill he needs to add.

Pretty stark contrast to bad shot taker guy that doesn't believe he has any weaknesses in his game.
