i'm starting to wonder if Colangelo is trying to drag this out as close to the trade deadline as possible to make a move, when guys like Boogie and Wall might possibly become available, opening up the trade market and putting more creative possibilities out there

Yeah, I think that's the obvious strategy. The offers aren't great now, teams need to wait and see if they're buyers or sellers in a few months. Hopefully the chips fall so that some team really needs a young defense-first center; otherwise we might have a longer headache on our hands (since there's no reason to dump him just to do it--and we definitely don't need more 2nds and end-of-bench pieces).

BB is talking too much, he needs to shut up and start watching game tape on how to coach and make roght decisions.

I think they are holding Noel out now to prevent further injury while BC is working on a trade.

Write to Brown and express your displeasure if you wish. I sent my message two hours ago. Didn't bounce back.

It's obvious I posted pretty much the same stuff earlier.

You'd have to be a special kind of clueless to not view what Noel did negatively but thats what we've come to expect from the Noel sycophants on the board.

Sounds to me like the order to bench Noel came from on high... the thin skinned nepotist rat. BB doesn't have the mental makeup to decide something that big on his own.

Going to repost this here to keep some hopes up!

In the past few years - what names have had stories like this - "disgruntled" or problematic and it concerning GMs?

Morris? Dragic? Kanter?

Kanter:

Outgoing: Enes Kanter, Steve Novak

Incoming: Kendrick Perkins, Grant Jerrett, the rights to Tibor Pleiss, a protected 2017 first-round pick, a 2017 second-round pick.

Morris:

Phoenix received a first-round draft pick -- protected to the ninth spot -- and forwards Kris Humphries and DeJuan Blair in exchange for the 6-foot-10, 245-pound Morris.

Dragic:

The blockbuster trade eventually morphed into a three-team deal that also involved the New Orleans Pelicans. First-round picks in 2017 (top-seven protected) and 2021 (unprotected) will go to Phoenix, as well as Danny Granger, according to 620 KTAR. Justin Hamilton will also go to Phoenix, while Norris Cole and Shawne Williams appear to be heading to New Orleans. The Suns will also get John Salmons.

Morris threw a towel at his coach and tried to fight Archie Goodwin. Dragic publicly requested out. Kanter did the same.

All got AT LEAST a first.

Noel is gone, for what and when is the only question. This headache has turned into a full blown migraine at this point. Noel is clearly more talented than Richaun Holmes and should be playing. This reeks of BC doing what he does. I don't necessarily think this kills Noels trade value as much as we think though. He has a proven resume, and we have a logjam in the frontcourt. I love Noel, I love all three of our bigs, but this has to end as quickly as possible.

What Brett Brown said is harsh, but it's the truth. Noel isolated himself from the team. I don't remember him welcoming Simmons to the team, atleast not publicly.

Just because you did not read it or it was not reported does not mean it did not happen.

I don't recall Hollis Thompson welcoming Simmons to the team either!

There was an article written a while ago about Jerry Colangelo. And how he had a policy in place when he was in charge. If a player was disruptive or was not a team player. That guy would be traded as soon as possible. Jerry wanted guys that wanted to be on his team and play for his team. I believe this is the same approach that Bryan is taking.

But it also lets you know a couple of things.

Brett Brown and Bryan are not on the same page. How can Noel be slated to play and the coach does not know?
Bryan is making personnel decisions and not letting coach Brown know about it. Speaks to a lack of respect. I would go as far as to say Bryan wants him gone.
Coach Brown feels disrespected and knows he is on his way out. He was on the same page with Hinkie but coach Brown was Hikie's guy Coach Brown is not Bryan's guy.

The same reporters and fans that blasted Hinkie for being in the shadows and letting coach Brown do all the talking need to hold Bryan to the same standards.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

Hollis isn't one of the faces of the franchise, he's a guy lucky to make the team each year. Noel at that time was basically the face of the franchise and the team leader.

He will get paid in the offseason don't worry. There will always be at least one GM that is dumb enough to over pay for his services. The way I see it is if Evan Freaking Turner got $70 million this offseason, Noel will get that and some.

Noel is killing his trade value!

Post#1538 » by JoJoEmbiid » Mon Dec 19, 2016 10:26 pm

First complaining about the logjam.
Then the surgery.
Then complaining to the media after his 2nd game.
Then being out of the rotation.

Why can't he just trust the process?
Why does the FO think giving him 0 minutes will help? None of this makes sense to me. When Embiid rests it should be Ersan/Noel, Jah/Saric. And we still have Holmes! I feel like he should be in the D-League do that he can get some playing time, because hes a good player. We do have a "problem", we just need to find some trades.

My guess is very few of anyone on here has ever coached basketball. Bottom line is, Nerlens is not a part of the future, and BB isn't going to pretend he is anymore. He has to coach the guys he's building around for the future. The world that internet posters live in is just not the same as the one an NBA coach lives in. The argument that playing him increases his trade value is just not the reality. Teams know he's gone, we will get low balled until someone really has a true need for him. If not, we trade him for whatever we can get. The coaching staff and FO realizes that there's no point. If he's healthy, the NBA already knows his ability and skill set. He's not going to get trade value by playing 15-20 minutes a game and it sets back the rest of the team. Nerlens is gone. He asked to be gone a long time ago. Everyone in the NBA knows it. Im 1000% sure his agent has done his due diligence to help find a suitable place for him where he can get paid. That's his job.
