Yeah from what I know about Bone marrow procedures is that it helps speed up the process of healing(but not something you do unless its truly needed). Actually may prove that Sixers management is not lying about his foot, and that it simply isnt fully healed. Like you said jones fractures are tricky. Best case scenario is that bone marrow works and in about a month or so, they find that his foot reacted well to it and it has helped the final healing.

Lets hope it helps. Our medical team could sure use something to go right these days.

It's pretty obvious to me that when Simmons originally got hurt, the entire organization including Simmons decided on a plan that would allow him a full season plus an off-season to work with the same guys who helped Joel develop his shot and overall game while injured. He's gonna come back hitting 40% from 3pt, a true outside shooter and still have the rest of his game, along with Embiid who they are shutting down for the season now. Embiid will be even better and both will dominate. Sixers win 50+ games while Lonzo Ball sits out for the season with a foot injury.

I highly doubt Simmons shoots that well from 3. It's going to take him a few years to probably even be a 35% 3 point shooter.

If a simple injection like this can help, then why doesn't he get it anyway? Seems pretty non invasive to me.

Btw, I know that it is a touchy subject, but wouldn't HGH really help here? I'm not advocating for him to cheat. I'm just saying that athletes should be able to use anything that can heal them faster. I don't know much about it, but I have read that it can make bones heal faster.

The rule is that they aren't allowed any performance enhancing drugs, but healing from broken bones is a medical issue, and that seems like a legitimate reason to take anything that helps.

I would imagine the the regimens that can really give someone a competitive advantage, would be more more extensive, and sustained than the amount that you would take to speed up healing. It could monitored.

I mean, did anyone think JoJo would be hitting 36.7% of his 3pt attempts this season? I know I certainly didn't, it was a pretty big shock to me. I thought he'd have range but not this much this quick. If Simmons works on his shot non-stop and develops it (and maybe has been already), I don't think there's any reason to believe he won't grow in confidence and get the green light from coach Brown to let them fly in games. There isn't enough history to suggest he will be less than 30% from 3pt line as a rookie, and with all the NBA level development that could be taking place, I don't think it's crazy to think he comes out and takes more shots than we all expect from beyond the arc, and in doing so makes them at a 35-40% clip. I mean, is it a stretch? Sure. Is it impossible though? No. Improbable? Yes. Do I enjoy asking questions to myself and then answering them? I do. Does it make me feel better about life? It does. Does that change the fact that this is a forum and I should limit the amount of the questions? Yes.

Embiid just has natural ability, and stroke. The guy is a potential elite midrange shooter because he has great touch on his shot, I don't think it's something you can develop. Not saying Simmons won't be a serviceable or good shooter, repetition helps but he really needs to want to be a great shooter and that's just thousands of hours in the gym just shooting jumpers with discipline, making sure his shooting mechanics are the same with every jump shot. i know i'm stating the obvious but I really want Simmons to be an all around great player.

I felt a lot more comfortable about Embiid's jump shot. I saw clips of him shooting in practice and he hit a lot of shots in a row. The clips I see of Simmons he doesn't hit tgat many in a row. I hope you're right about Simmons shooting but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Everybody knows that Ben Simmns can play point-forward and be effective . However Brett has a goal to develop Simmons into a starting Point Guard ... 1 ... Lead Guard. Not a pointforward. Simmons will guard d and will guard other positions as well. However he will be slotted as a Point Guard a 6'10 point guard. Not at the Powerforward... not at Smallforward.... A 6'10 point guard/Lead Guard. The one!! He will guard point guards as a starter . A POINT GUARD . Not a starting PF we got Dario for that. A POINT GUARD!!!! A POINT GUARD !!!! Brett never said Simmons would guard the point guard. In fact he said he hopes he never has to guard the point. What Brett said was Simmons would guard whoever guards him. He expects other teams to put their forwards in him and not their point guard.

I don't think you understand. He said he would guard whoever guards him. If we play the Wizards and they put Otto Porter on him he's going to guard Porter not Wall. Brown doesn't want him guarding the other team's PG and he shouldn't. Simmons can't do that.

i cannot believe people are that stupid to not get what Brett meant. LeBron basically runs the point a lot of the cavs but he doesn't always guard them. why this so hard for people to get? Simmons will run the 1 on offense and guard one of the forwards on defense. This isn't rocket science.
