Rockets In: Korkmaz, Phi 2nd Round Pick, LAL 2nd Round Pick
Rockets Out: Eric Gordon

Lakers In: Mike Conley, Tobias Harris
Lakers Out: Russell Westbrook, Stanley Johnson, 1st Round Pick, 2nd Round Pick

-----------------------------------------------

Sixers In: PJ Washington

If Utah decides to blow it up, the guy im looking to add is Gobert.

I know it sounds stupid from the surface.

you don’t pay a defensive anchor $46M at age 34. He also hasn’t played well in the playoffs.

But compare to Tobi’s contract, at pure contract standpoint and value in a playoff basketball setting, Tobi could be an asset with comparative value.

I’d also generate a couple of first round picks using Thybulle and Springer, as sweeteners.

Then lastly, I’d take the advantage of how Gobert actually has improved stepping out on defense. The problem is because he can’t step out that often because of Jazz’s structure on defense. And in this case, I’d ask him to step out on defense because we have Embiid as back up.

Gobert and Harden can also plays elite basketball in case Embiid’s heart went oops like that tiktok song that went famous in early 2000. While we can slowly shift Embiid into a role similar to Dirk. Attacking mismatch by shooting over them. While Gobert plays the same role with how Chandler was with Dirk.

I think getting Gogurt would honestly be the last straw for me for a while.

No, not Gobert. You need another big with Jo who can guard 4’s and 5’s and shoot. It’s a tough ask, but that’s why Morey gets the big bucks.

Yeah, that is ideal but thats not happening.

Your best bet now is Reed or Bassey turning into those guys.

Hope we can get Boucher

I think I value LaVine like an iota more than Beal. It’s close. That said, they both couldn’t interest me less this off-season. Overpriced chuckers.

We'd be stupid to trade Maxey for anything less then a superstar player. Lavine and Beal are both very good players, but I've seen them perform in the playoffs. Not impressed. Lavine was awful and non existent against the Bucks. Beal was of course injured. Maxey outperformed both of them. Maxey is on his way to stardom. You don't move Maxey until we see him peak.

This bleacher report trade idea popped up on my Google feed:

Thybulle and our 1st for Lu Dort

In terms of deals that keep a lot in place, I think that's one that could help quite a bit, particularly with the lack of toughness. Pretty mediocre shooter, but he's at least willing, and he competes. Add him and a guy like Batum in free agency and this team could compete.

The idea of Hayward / PJ for Harris / Thybulle is kinda growing in me. I think we are desperate enough to wager on Hayward being healthy.

Would have to draft a big SF and sign a big SF to get most of the regular season run and save Hayward for the playoffs lol

Harden / Shake / Springer
Maxey / Shake / Springer
Hayward / MLE / rookie
PJ / Reed
Embiid / Bassey / Reed

I doubt they'd make that trade but I would accept that in a second. PJ Washington would be the perfect 4 for this team. I can't even find another player in the league who is comparable to him still on a rookie contract.

I want to use Tobias' contract (+ Springer, Thybulle, or our 1st round pick) to acquire 2 or 3 of the following players:

Patrick Beverley
Royce O'Neale
PJ Washington
Eric Gordon
KCP
Kyle Kuzma

Could probably just get Bruce Brown for the cheap if you wanted that type of player.

He was on social media a few days ago saying he missed the best Nets teammate he's ever had too

I think Dort is a significantly better player than Brown. Brown presents similar issues to Thybulle offensively (not that comfortable shooting, and teams can schematically ignore him). Not quite to the same extent since Matisse is all time bad on offense for a perimeter guy, but he's also not as good on the other end.

Dort's not a good shooter yet, but he'll let it fly, and that's half the battle. I also trust him more as a man defender than Matisse.

Additionally, if he was gonna be cheap, I imagine he'd be staying put.

great work.

Trading Tobias' .25 for two dimes and a nickel is my main priority heading into this offseason, before getting into anything else. This team has 0 depth and that needs to be addressed.

PJ would be perfect. Hayward... is less than ideal.

Wonder if you could flip Gordo with the last couple firsts the Sixers can trade (2022 and 2029) to Indy for Turner as part of that?

CHA gets Harris and Thybulle
IND gets Hayward, 2022 PHI 1st, 2029 PHI 1st
PHI gets Washington, Hield/Brogdon (Indy's choice, I assume they will want to dump one of them?), and Turner

Harden/Brogdon or Hield/Springer
Maxey/Brogdon or Hield/Joe
TMLE/Korkmaz
Embiid/Washington/Niang
Turner/Reed/Bassey

He just won't have the same liberties he does in OKC on any good roster. I still don't get why the basketball world thinks Lu Dort is a good basketball player. He's currently on a god awful roster taking an inefficient 15 shots per game, isn't a stopper defensively, cannot make plays for others via passing and is a very very poor rebounder.

What's his role here in Philadelphia? Unless you envision him as a shot creator, he's going to be operating in the same role as Thybulle or Bruce Brown which is doing the dirty work, taking defensive challenges, being a pass outlet, knocking down shots that come his way.

The only reason I would be interested in paying out real assets for Dort is if you believed he could turn his chucking into efficient 3 point shooting because of his already high volume and solid FT numbers. ATM though he's like a flat soda Marcus Smart, but actually worse at everything.

Chasing after that undersized forward, stocky guard hybrid secondary ballhandler I'd value Dort after Bruce Brown who's shown he can fit within the crux of a winning offense and is a better defender and rebounder.

Josh Hart is the créme of this archetype though.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
