at some point in lonzo’s career he’ll develop a midrange shot, i also think he’ll be pretty good from 3 point range too, but i cant get over the fact that this guy cannot dribble drive into the paint and collapse the defense to save his life and and can’t attack the rim. watching him throw passes at the top of the key and on the wings to shooters coming off curls and screens and watching holiday, leaf, alford, welsh, etc hitting open shots and shots with a hand in their face in a halfcourt set didn’t really impress me

that 79% fg% at the rim looks nice until you realize that over 50% of his made shots at the rim were assisted. so i had a lot of concerns with lonzo coming into the draft and couldnt really see drafting him in the top 5.

also, this is the first time i’m seeing mentions about hockey assists from the media after who else, lonzo ball

Agreed, nobody made the mistake of thinking Lonzo was going to be a penetrator that could score at the rim. That was De'Aaron Fox's game.

That number highlights how elite an off-ball cutter he is, though. Which would be on full-display in a motion offense with an off-position floor general (aka Brett Brown's scheme and Ben Simmons).

Los Angeles, Phoenix and Orlando were awful fits for Lonzo's game. He would have hit the ground running in Steven's or Brown's offense.

Not saying we should have drafted him, but I think Fox has been the most impressive rookie outside of Simmons and Tatum. He's getting almost no attention compared to Ball, DSJ, and even Jackson. I still believe Fultz will be the best of the bunch, but Fox and Tatum won't be far behind.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Barlow/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

Of the 1-and-dones, I think Tatum has pretty much been in a league of his own, in the early going. He's truly been stellar on both ends.

I see you qualified it as of the one and dones. Do you hold the same position for all rookies not named Simmons?

Malik Monk putting up 25 tonight. So he's probably due for a scoreless night soon.

He's been impressive. He plays very mature for his age. For me, he's perfect for the Celtics.

So TJ Warren has been absurd since Bledsoe was benched. Dropped 40 tonight on the Wiz in a winning effort. Must hurt Bledsoe's trade valuation.

The Delon Wright, OG Anunoby, and Jakob Poeltl trio is going to be a pretty decent young core moving forward for the Raptors. If OG can get consistent with his 3 ball and maybe hit some FTs, he's the prototypical SF/PF in the NBA.

Losing culture tho.

I've always considered Houston my 2nd home so I'm glad the folks that still live there got this one.

Donovan Mitchell went off for 28 points and. Ink went off for 25 points.

This rookie class is so stacked. If there was any draft to not trade up in, it was this one. So dumb.

Man, Nerlens Noel looks lost in Dallas.

Should help Mitchell's offensive stats after his early season shooting slump. He's been a positive on defense last I checked.

So those who said Kyrie is overrated and talked about his on/off splits from Cleveland and showed how when LeBron sat and Kyrie was on the court the Cavs were outscored and that Kyrie never won without LeBron and will never won without him what are your thoughts on what he’s doing in Boston right now? And yes I know that last sentence was a long run on sentence. I did that on purpose. But anyway I always liked Kyrie more than others and felt he leaned how to win and play and would do well in Boston. So far so good. He’s going to make people eat a lot of crow.

Dont know man..

Watching at the clips, Lonzo's issue with the shot isnt its not going in but he can't pull it off against quicker and longer defenders. There was one instance that he needed to take a step back after he was very very lightly guarded.

If you're a guard who's struggling offensively, getting to play against Lillard/McCollum is usually the fix you need.

At every turn the announcers tried their hardest to tell the viewing audience how great he was and how even when he is not getting the assist he should get the hockey assist. My Cod is there some mandate to pump this guy up each and every time he plays?

I'm not saying he is utter garbage but they hype train on this guy is amazing.

Its money Lebowski. All of you in the thread called Around the league are just talking about that guy. Its self reinforcing trend, and if you want to stop seeing him, just stop mentioning his name on the net. If enough people do that, the marketing guys will notice reduction of his name in their analytic and will adjust their coverage accordingly. STOP TALKING ABOUT HIM (yes I know I am screaming :) ) At least in this topic there are 200 other players, so just change the topic to a more interesting one ...
