Swap out Springer for Milton. We ain't losing Jaden Springer in a Ben Simmons trade. He has too much two-way potential.

I don’t see why Cleveland would do that. Sure, they get off the Love contract but that’s selling way to low on Sexton. Murray + Sexton would be pretty sick tho. Maybe it’s workable for Cleveland if they got Keldon Johnson in the deal but SAS would really be clearing out all of their young talent.

No disrespect just my two cents.
I’d rather have Milton than Murray. And in that case, I’d be looking to trade Murray to a fourth team. Maybe the Bulls for Coby White? Murray probably could compliment Lavine and Vuc better.
And no way Cavs would do that deal. And if they do.. it confirms that Milton is a really good player that is someone you wouldnt trade him to get Murray for.

Im no expert. But our FO valued points per shot and TS%, so i dont really see us going after Dejounte Murray (.509TS%).
Morey probably would prefer Primo, Vassell and picks instead. Which we can pump and dump along with our other assets when a good opportunity to trade for a top tier star comes.

This is the same Milton who shot .319fg across 12 playoff games at 4ppg?

Which one?
I do think ive evaluate Ben fairly. Been even saying he’d be a lot better on other teams that is better suited for him. I also mentioned how he fits perfectly with teams like the Wolves, Cavs or Blazers.
I just dont see him being THAT good nor do i see him as a good fit with our team, with all things considered.
If we have Doncic, instead of Embiid, then I dont mind keeping Ben.
Everyone knows me as a bias Sixers fan. I dont have a bias towards a player or a specific individual. If i have to hype up Ben to get a good return, I will do it

Based on their respective careers to date, it’s impossible to conclude that Milton is better than Murray
What’s more, Doc doesn’t rate Shake so our opinion is irrelevant and he will be out the door as filler in a heartbeat

Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 4

The best players wouldn't mind being able to hold decision level events every FA.
Yall need to get over this idea that the team can just own players for as long as they want. If a dude wants out...he wants out. Its not really the normal boss/ employee relationship and more of a partnership if anything. Both sides need the other and thus each side gives and takes. Whining about how these players don't want to play in certain cities or only for certain situations is pointless. These dudes are young millionaires with great gifts...that comes with being able to make choices/demands that us not young millionaires with little to no gifts can't make. Thats life lol.
Ben asking out sucks because he needs to look in a damn mirror and realize he is the problem...BUT even if he did do that, him getting a fresh start elsewhere is probably for the best for both parties at this stage. AD asking out was the correct choice, not even using hindsight because the Pels weren't going to build a contender around him. Harden asking out was also correct because that team was capped out. Bron leaving the Cavs the first time made total sense because of similar reasons. Now each of these guys went about it in the worst ways...so they deserve heat for that but if you take a step back...you can understand their issues.
I think a lot of fans are simply too close to their respective teams that they take "player wants out" as "player hates me and everything I stand for" lol.
tldr: you are never going to be able to force people to stay in situations they don't like. No ammount of rule changes will help that.
When has the saying “don’t let the inmates run the asylum” ever worked out?
He signed a massive lucrative contract, honor it. If he asks to be traded, hit ‘em hard in the bank account. Daily.
These athletes have been catered to and never been told no their whole lives. That’s why someone like Ben has the balls to slap his organization and thinks he can get away with it…. All because they questioned his drive in the playoffs. He’s paid 35 to 40 million to play basketball where he severely lacks the most important skill to play the game. His market sucks because of that alone. Morey is finding this out now.
I think Ben sucks it up for the first time in his life and gets back out there when this is all said and done, for the sixers.

The problem is my man, Ben was encouraged all season by Doc by continue playing the way he always has. Then all of the sudden when the Sixers lose in the playoffs, Ben is thrown under the bus for playing the way the coaching staff have always told him to play. Obviosuly this is Doc covering his ass and shifting blame for blowing multiple double digit leads by sitting the starters (ie Ben). In this scenario, I would not ever want to play for said backstabbing pathetic excuse for an NBA "coach" again. So here we are.

Yes, I agree with you in a way, but they did not encourage him to shoot 34% from the line and pass up open dunks.

This is what I mean. The open dunk narrative is pathetic.
Two examples that took me 2 mins to find. Are these players being dragged over the coals?
Ben said he thought he was goign to get blocked from behind and Tisse had a better shot. The reaction is pathetic for this one play.

Hmm..
I also have the same assumption. Then I saw that Shake actually had his best scoring season last year for us, that is despite having a shooting slump to end the season.
I believe Shake can be better than what he is. He played well for us in the bubble where he average like 15ppg on almost 50-40-90 percentage.
If he’s in Murray’s role with the Spurs, I do think he’d likely average 17-5-5 on good percentage and also be a good defender.
But yes, in a nutshell and without any projection of a player’s performance relative to a different circumstance, its fair to say Murray is better than Milton but both are in the same tier in hierarchy.

Yup, personally i do think people are overreacting on Ben passing up that dunk.
I agree with Kenny Powers on the other thread where he said something like Biid also made some crucial TOs down the stretch so he also is at fault. ..which Biid also acknowledged.
Its overblown, unless you expect Ben to pass up open shots in the next 1000 possessions which is very unlikely.

I've seen a recent rush of people trying to defend that play.
Guys, the criticism has never solely been about that play, in a vacuum. That play is simply a microcosm of the entire Ben Simmons experience.

Dribble-Pass-Shoot (Milton) and Dribble-Pass-Defend (Murray) guys are arguably in the same tier. Murray types might be slightly more valuable.
The thing with Milton is, all the sudden, he's becoming a guy who's constantly losing his confidence and going through slumps. I think we want a little more stability and consistency and less maintenance from that position.
If you're not into Murray, ask the Spurs to swap him out for Derrick White. Similar skillset to Milton, same contract as Murray.

Yes, he is good but not that good alongside Joel in the PO and we can hope and pray that other teams will believe that shooting 34% from the line will happen never again in the PO. It's like a cruel joke really.
