I'm still holding out hope that the Sixers go with the youth and length of Derrick Favors....did you see the workout video of him at Sacr? The guy barely has to jump to throw it down!!!! Now ideally they move a player or two to get into the 10-13 range and pick Paul George, another guy with length that can play the 2 or 3. If I'm not mistaken he played with Jrue Holiday on a team a few years ago?!?!?!

What team ever only works out one player? It would be stupid and moronic to do so. You have to do your job and prepare for all scenarios.

I agree with Westbrook, unless you are determined to get John Wall or Blake Griffin!

By the way, I hope draft day come soon so we can end all these speculations

Even though SF already answered the question, it's not for me to say what the Sixers would define as bombing. Perhaps he comes across very poorly in personal interviews and they come away concerned about his demeanor, coachability, or whatever. Perhaps he comes in and looks less athletic and versatile than they originally thought and are concerned about how that will translate at the pro level. I think these are not overly realistic, but it wouldn't be the first time that a prospect disappoints during a workout. For that matter, if you have seen enough of him to know what he's actually done and are locked in on him at #2, why even conduct a private workout? Why not just sit down and talk with him and get a personal perspective.

I want to see some one-on-one battles during workouts btwn Iguodala and Turner.

Workouts are nice but I really can't wait to see the three of them playing insane defense and getting out on the break together. If only we had a better frontcourt.

I wouldn't pull the trigger on this, but if they are interested, I would tell Minnesota it takes Favors, Henry, and another #1 pick to get Turner. Given Jrue and Iguodala's ability to handle the ball, I'm OK with seriously considering Henry (more of a spot up shooter) and Favors to build around moving forward. That type of move would also give them a very solid core moving forward.

The Sixers love to put their existing players in really awkward positions. First, we almost had Jrue Holiday at the lottery watch as he was almost placed on the trading block should the Sixers have landed the #1 pick.

Now, according to sixers.com, Thaddeus Young and Lou Williams will both be at the Sixers Draft Night party at the Wachovia Center. According to SF76, there's a chance that one of those players could be traded on draft night. I'm sure both Williams and Young will be out in the crowd before and during the draft so that could place them in a bit of an awkward spot when ESPN announces they've been traded while they are busy entertaining the fans.

The Sixers... where awkward happens.

You know that's really interesting. Maybe I'm giving Ed too much credit for being forward thinking, but perhaps that means they are NOT being traded (at least not during the draft). On a related note, if we're thinking of trading back into the first round, the guy I think who would attract the most attention from other teams is Speights. Not saying that happens, but if I'm another GM with a pick in the 8 to 16 range, and Ed lets it be known he wants a pick, it's not far-fetched that discussion starts with Speights and not Thad.

Are Cousins and Favors still working out this Friday for the Sixers? Any idea what time workouts usually start/end? Thanks!

and they put their coaches in awkward positions. For example: letting Eddie Jordan even speak to the media.

"We didn't have the passion or the quickness. We lacked the good play with the intensity. We just didn't have the passion it tonight quickness intensity the running speed of the floor with the quickness and the passion."

"with the intensity."

Hey SF, I saw on the wiretap that Stefanski has indicated he did not talk to Iverson and have no clue of his intention. It's pretty safe to say Iverson won't be coming back?

Why are we still talking about Iverson?? Turner is the anti-Iverson, and the brightest prospect this team has had since they drafted Barkley, and the headline on the front page is that he Sixers don't know what Iverson is doing...who cares what Iverson is doing??? I wish him well, but let's move on from that dark era of Sixers basketball. This roster now has the potential to be based on characteristics which lend to team success...quality character guys who compete, nice length across all positions, and the ability to defend/rebound.

Agree about Thad and Lou...they are talented, young players, so maybe they are considered to be part of the franchise rebuild moving forward. I still hope they make a trade to get another top 15 pick, but it would be shocking if it involved either of them inthe deal.

i think its safe to say Iverson is likely going to retire....

although i could see him making a mid season comeback with either a contending team or the knicks or something.

great career...will go down as one of the best sixers and players ever.
now we start a new era...the Turner era.

I remember when we drafted #2 and started the Stackhouse era... The arena was even called "Stack's House"...until we drafted AI the following year. Some eras are brief and uneventful. Others are like a roller coaster.

We actually drafted Stack number 3 after McDyess and the immortal number one, Joe Smith.

Some guy named Garnett was the fifth pick after Sheed.

I do remember the "Stack's House" slogans, back when he was one in a long line of next Jordan's.

SF, any word on whether or not this Dalembert deal means another deal is inevitable? Nocioni/Young/Iguodala/Kapono/Turner is quite a log jam...

Man, this one came out of nowhere!
