Re: 2016-2017 College Basketball / '17 NBA Draft Thread III
For the 76ers and their primary needs I would draft in this order Faultz , Smith jr , Fox , Jackson , Tatum , Ball , Issac.
An ok off ball defensive PG with tonnes of athleticism should be the focus.
If 76ers stay at #3 they should be picking Smith or Fox unless someone else wows them at a workout.

I'm a Dennis Smith fan, but I gotta say I'm a bit disappointed. You're one of the guys here who actually watches games (and sees these guys in context) and all it took was a few edited highlight videos to run Dennis Smith all of the way to the top of your board?

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I couldn't watch NC St (or Washington) games because I was too busy doing literally anything else.
But, yea, it has been the clips I've been watching. To be fair, the ones I posted showed his weaknesses. I've also watched the DX videos on him. My concern was that he just never played defense. But after watching him play engaged, he actually looked like a phenomenal defender. So it's not like Monk, a player that tries hard on defense but still fails. That's a coschable issue that Brown would fix. What he does on offense is as good, if not better, than the elite PGs in the league when they were prospects.

Well, I wish you would have watched those Washington games so you could tell me what it is that Fultz does, that make people believe he's a future Superstar.

Yeah. I heard those dumbas... on their podcast the other night trying concoct scenarios where the 76ers take Monk at 3, so they can get Jackson to Phoenix, where he would fit perfectly with Booker. The host is a Boston fan, who is letting his fandom get in the way of his own logic. They had Jackson #2 overall, until the Lakers and 76ers got the #2 and #3 picks.

Payback for the rumor trolling of Brad Stevens' job security.

You'll have to tell me. He's below Jackson, Tatum, DSJ, and Isaac for me at the moment.

Wow, I did not realize James Blackmon Jr had a 6'8 wingspan. I'd give him a summer league spot for sure. He's an incredible shooter, just doesn't play any defense. He's basically a less athletic Monk.

I don't think he is better than Ball or Jackson, but I think he is better than all the rest.

Nigel Williams Goss.We really need to take a hard look at this kid with one of our 2nd picks. He could be a steal.
Obviously TJ McConnell has shown he is a legit NBA reserve PG...but if were looking for another, or more....NWG could be that kid.
I see George Hill / Corey Joseph like potential in him.

Yes. I'm honestly saying that he doesn't look better than a few other players in this draft.

Re: 2016-2017 College Basketball / '17 NBA Draft Thread III
Trying to find our potential George Hill/Corey Joseph/Patty Mills using our 4 2nd rounders.
The early list of candidates
Point Guards:
Derrick White - 6'4.5" combo guard with decent length. Crafty and can do a bit of everything. 40% 3PT shooter on over 4 attempts a game. Can stuff a stat sheet.
Jawun Evans - Undersized at 5'11.5" but has length (6'5.5" wingspan)- Legit point guard. Passes well, runs a team, uses his length on D and is a crafty scorer who's improved from behind the arc (37% 3PT). Will likely shoot up the board and end up going mid 1st after workouts, he is pretty good.
Nigel Williams Goss - Good size at 6'3 with a 6'7.5" wingspan. Can run a team,Stuffs the stat sheet, shot 37% from 3 and shows promise as a shooter.
Frank Jackson - 6'3.5" 6'7.5" wingspan 42" Vert and tested in the top 5 in every athletic category at the combine. 39.5% from 3 on almost 4 attempts in limited minutes.Could be a sleeper project as a combo PG to play off of Ben Simmons. Has the athleticism and length to profile into a decent defensive player.
Frank Mason - Another undersized player, but has the length at 6'4.5" to compensate a bit for his 5'11 height and plays with a motor and toughness. Was the player of the year in college basketball and is a leader. Can run a team and was a high volume lights out shooter from 3 at 47.5% on almost 5 att a game. If your looking for a backup PG who wont kill you and can know down perimeter shots.....he could be an option.

ok, this is where I need someone to explain to me Ball. He can't penetrate, is honestly underwhelming in the half court, and is a defensive afterthought (though he has potential there). He is a great secondary and transition passer, is pretty dynamite in transition overall, he's smart and avoids doing things that he is bad at. The shot has its pluses and minuses obviously. Am I missing something? I feel like I'm missing something because you're not an unreasonable dude and I can't jive the concept of him being in Kyrie's ballpark.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I like Ball's team play. He can't score like Kyrie and never will. Kyrie was an afterthought and couldn't win until LeBron went back.

Yeah, I don't see how Ball can be able to score like Kyrie. Kyrie's 25ppg with almost that 50/40/90 club.
