Mattise is like 24 already.

Not much room for growth. He might hit more shots and will benefit from a shot creator but he is close to who he is right now

There's a reason why Matisse only plays 20 mpg. Because he's useless on the side of the court that accounts for 75% of the importance in the sport.

Do me a favor and go through that list. Give me the names of guys who play less than 30 mpg and score less than 10 ppg.

Do me a favor and list guys who play less than 20 mpg being voted into All defensive team.

Oh and in your world guys won't ever improve I got it.

https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/matisse-thybulle-1.html

Show me the improvement.

Does that stats also tell you Ben Simmons won't have any improvement after his rookie year ?

Anyway why bother trading a guy who is "useless"

Oh he knows, he just doesn't want it to be true.

Thybulle's development trajectory is just as flat as Ben Simmons. These guys have both been the same player for 6+ years with no statistical improvement whatsoever.

Lol about Ben Simmons you said this five years later ...

And what do I know ? Guys won't ever improve after age 24 or their sophomore season ?

Oh you still don't list me another guy who is voted into all defensive team while playing less than 20 mpg. I'm still waiting ...

To be fair, I can't really remember the last Sixer that developed skill-wise working with team coaches. Our best developed player is Embiid and he runs thru Haney.

It's been a common complaint of mine for years that not only do we fail to develop a single player, especially when it comes to shooting, our players actually shoot worse after they start getting "coached up." If I was ownership I wouldn't even blink at paying 10-20 mil a year to steal Chip from the Spurs or whoever the hell the Raptors have.

HAHAHHA Thybulle just made all-nba defense 2nd team off the bench ahahhaahha. i CAN'T stop laughing.

And he made the same exact stupid fouls with 90 seconds left to go in a 102-100 Sixers lead game 5 and a 93-92 hawks lead game 7. Fouling the 3 point shooter.

You cannot make that type of foul. And thybulle did it twice. He has to know time and sequence in ball games. Ok to make that play with 3-4 minutes left in game. Not ok with 90 seconds and possessions being critical.

This is not to excuse Ben or coaches... but i wonder if the form change has to do with not making proper adjustments as he gained muscle? His shoulders and arms are significantly larger than HS. I remember (once upon a time when i worked out and felt strong lol) that it affected my form as my muscles felt much larger/wider. Granted, this should be correctable (look at Embiids huge muscle mass increase) but for someone who has a poor shooting feel and bad coaching... :banghead:

I was always told to practice shooting shortly after any lifting. I don't know, I'm sure Ben practices shooting, I just think it's more of a mental thing with him that he will eventually work through.

Much of it is mental and you only have to look at the difference in form between his made and missed fts to recognise it

Literally night & day

Then he stops being aggressive when the fts start missing

That’s mental as well

Compare & contrast to Giannis

He air balls fts all the time but he continues to attack nonetheless

You can’t develop shooting touch overnight. This one takes years. You can see it with Giannis. Sometimes his shot is accurate sometimes his misses are way off like the other day he was making jumpers but he airballed a FT.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Just throwing it out there since I saw some rumor/speculation on Twitter, but would you be cool with swinging a Ben for Klay type deal with Warriors?

this.

Goes double for me.

I'd be just trading dudes like crazy. Pretty sure I'd be blackballed from the league...and would deserve it
