He's certainly among the 30 best players not on a rookie deal.

He's fairly paid.

my bad.

I don't know whats the point of asking how many players in the Mavs roster is better than Iggy. At the SF position, Butler and Marion should be equal or better to Iggy. Mavs are better off with Butler and Marion since their team would need scorer rather than facilitator at the SF position with Kidd being a genius at facilitating their offense. Butler and Marion should, arguably, isn't that far off from Iggy.

What I do know is that he'd probably be the 4th to 5th option on offense, behind Dirk, Terry, Kidd and probably Marion who seems to be a better scorer than Iguodala.

Nice so Jason Kidd and Shawn Marion are better offensive options than Iguodala. I gotcha.

Kidd and Marion are better scorers. Iggy can't even cracked 14ppg as our no.1 option this season. Iggy is a better athlete than both Kidd and Marion. But he's not a better scorer than both.

He wasn't the number 1 shooting option

He took the 5th most FGAs
He took the 3rd most FGA per Game
He took the 7th most FGs per minute
He had the sixth highest usage rate

I think you are confusing "number 1 option" with "best player."

We get it, you'll defend Andre at all costs. Who was the Sixers #1 option then? SMH

Still, Kidd and Marion are better options on offense. One is a better shooter and one is a better slasher. Both have better scoring mentality/tools.

Kidd is a 38 year old spot-up shooter who scored 8 points per game while shooting horribly this season. You're making yourself look foolish.

Marion is close but at this point in his career he's not as good of a scorer as Iguodala.

There was a clear dearth of number one options, transient players, ball stabilizers, and red dragons on the Philadelphia 76ers this year.

Maybe it was that Brand guy that averaged the most shots per game on the team.

Elton Brand. The guy getting paid like a #1 option.

The clear sign you don't know a thing about basketball:

When you judge the worth of a player base on his scoring ability and nothing else.

So let's get back the origional question...

How many players on Dallas would be better than Iguodala if he dropped onto their team today?

I find the relationship between only caring about scoring and trashing Iguodala to be fascinating. No matter what, the thought always goes back to scoring. Accept him for who he is, not who you think he should be. It's a lot more fun that way.

If anything, I wouldn't mind trading Evan Turner for OJ Mayo.

Yea, I was talking about the people that turned it into being purely about scoring (I.E. You)

"Iguodala supporter"--- ooh more terms for the glossary.

Yes, I did ask the question. Still doesn't change the fact not 1 person has answered it yet.

Uggggh no. Go back and read, kid. I jumped into the conversation like 8 posts in. It was clearly 76ology who was talking about scoring.

Anyway, to answer the mystery..

Iguodala should probably be the 4th or 5th best player in the Mavs. Behind Dirk (no doubt), Kidd (still one of the best PG), Butler (better scorer and good defensive player) and Marion (better scorer, rebounder and good defensive player). If I'm the Mavs, I would value Iggy the same with Terry and Chandler.

Iggy should probably, play off the bench next to either Marion or Caron Butler.

Just my opinion.
