loved him taking brogdon off the drive and all the way to the cup too

The play at 1:22 in the second video above is how he needs to start functioning when a closer is needed.

If you can convince other teams to be stupid enough to get up on Ben at the 3 point line... sure... then he can do that regularly. That was just bad, stupid defense.

I think you can play small ball with Ben if you have a guy like PJ Tucker?

Green
Thybulle
Ben
Tobias
Tucker

Will that work?

I think to unlock small ball with Ben is him not at C. But what he brings on defense allows you to play with a wing who can play C.

Tucker should also be cheap

Ben now leads the league in DBPM among qualified players (Matisse hilariously has him beat by 1.5 but doesn't qualify)

Our center is one of the best shooters in the league while our point guard is the best defensive player in the league.

I would rather convince Simmons to play that way and shoot threes if people are going to back off.

Of course that may require him to develop his game, however.

Simmons played well.

But i’d like to know what is Pacers’ scouting report on Ben is.

He was being defended like during his rookie year when they didnt start sagging off him.

Its as if Pacers plan was to funnel Ben in the paint and to face Turner’s elite shotblocking around the rim. The kind of defense we used back then with Dikembe haha

https://www.crossingbroad.com/2021/02/the-sixers-used-double-drags-to-get-ben-simmons-in-downhill-attack-mode.html

“We ran a couple of things for him that we thought were really good. Double drags give him a head of steam. Indiana is a team that plays up. They’re one of the teams that plays up in their pick and roll (defense). In shootaround we said that, that they play up, so if they’re gonna play up and we double drag, there’s gaps, but you have to take them. You can’t stop and hesitate, it has to be full steam.”

I'd vote for him. He's steady and makes big plays when it matters.

My candidates right now:

Aaron Gordon
Otto Porter
DFS (finney smith)

Tucker will be great, but it’s a stretch

Yup. You get what I mean right?

You can start him..

Ben
Seth or even Green to make it a more defensive unit
Tobias
Tucker
Biid

Then you can also start him

Seth
Green
Ben
Tobias
Tucker

Its the Al Horford role but hopefully would be more effective.

That way we can play at a high level with or without Biid

Yea agree, may also be able to play Thybulle at SG with the first line up to play zone defense.

Definitely a move that needs to be made, but Porter makes $28M and Gordon make $18M and $16M next year. Not sure how they could get them.

DFS or Tucker would be good though.

Ben is 3Oth and 29th in the NBA now in BPM and VORP. Passed Ingram in BPM for the ones who care.
RPM is not really nice to him #94

Passed the great Brandon Ingram? Oh, we have a number of posters on here that care about that. LOL.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Ben is the DPOY??

Is that Tobias Harris hiding behind Demarr Derozan, on the Positive offense, Neutral defense axis?
