Rockets beat the Bucks tonight. I guess they should fire Bud and trade Giannis and Middleton for losing to the lowly Rockets. :D

Kobblehead wrote:Anthony Davis is actually kind of overrated from an all-time perspective, when you really think about it.

He's an elite defender and a good rebounder and he has point production. But he never shot threes and his career assist percentage is measly 11.9%.

He just doesn't measure up to guys like Garnett, Webber, and Duncan.

I think he's better than Bosh and Aldridge, but just as overrated as those guys in term of all-time lens.

I never gave Boogie the respect he deserved, but in hindsight and if both are healthy, I'd take Cousins over Davis.

Kobble I thought you’d understand by now.

By every measure and formulation you don’t take a non defensive center over a very good one.

It’ll stay that way forever. It’s basketball 101

In fact it’s definitely the number one indicator

That’s why someone like Towns sucks doo doo and whoever rates him still doesn’t get the sport lol.

Jokic is a complete outlier (offensive genius, the Nash of Centers) but have you seen the Nuggets playoff defensive ratings with him on the court?

We all could probably score against them lol.

RIP Paul Silas. I will remember him as not only LeBron's first coach in Cleveland, but coach of the New Orleans Hornets when we beat them in the 2003 first round.

The bucks have a chip so them losing to bad teams doesn't hit the same as our collection of choke artists.

and prior to said chip, Bud was on the hot seat; Giannis was doubted big time, and the countdown to him leaving was on.

One chip solves everything lol

I remember him most for his run-in with Eric Snow when both were in Cleveland and his response to the media afterwards.

True. All I'm saying is that the Rockets are more talented than their record would indicate.

Oh yeah I agree

I think its moreso how we lost with Harden playing poorly and Embiid throwing the ball away and generally how we are playing this season in general. The Bucks are the second seed so they can afford some bad losses.

BUT yeah the Rockets have young talent that might be figuring it out and figuring out the pecking order they werent at the start of the year.

Just chiming in on the Rockets loss. It had me in my feelings because it's a game that we should have won. With that said, I don't think the Rockets are a team to be taken lightly anymore. Jalen Green is the real deal, and Jabari Smith jr is going to be a star in this league as well. They have some decent supporting players around them as well. Contending teams all over the league are going to be calling about Kmart jr and Eric Gordon before the deadline passes. Kevin Porter jr is a good guard as well. Probably better suited in a sixth man role, but he's a damn good scoring guard. It's not that I personally felt the Rockets were beneath us, it was more anger towards Harden playing like crap and Embiid making consecutive mistakes during the most important stretch of the game. He can't do that against a great team like the Celtics and Harden can't play like crap either.

I don't remember this so thanks for sharing!

I started watching the Sixers in 2000-2001 so I don't remember much of Eric Snow, but was he kind of a pain in the ass? I remember him and Zumoff bickering during his brief commentator stint on TV, when he wasn't snoozing on air of course.

What exactly did Chicago think was going to happen when they decided to build a team around Demar Derozan and Nik Vucevic?

Actually he was a pretty high character guy. He was a key piece during the 2000-01 Finals run. He wasn't much of an offensive player but he was a heck of a defensive player who covered up for a lot of AI's defensive weaknesses in the backcourt. He was a typical Larry Brown guy who "played the right way". The fact that he had this confrontation with Silas was pretty out of character for Snow. As you said though, he wasn't much of a color commentator but still far from the WOAT which had to be Bob Salmi.

Eric Snow was the ultimate glue guy that you hear coaches and analysts talk about. I don't ever remember him being a problem while he played here. I can't speak for what kind of person he is or was outside of basketball, but from what I remember he was completely professional. He was definitely playing above his status. The guy was really nothing more than a reserve, and yet he was the starting guard on a team that made it to the Finals. Just goes to show the lack of talent Iverson had at his side during that run. As far as a colo commentator...I didn't love him, but I'd just about take him over Kate Scott. I don't know...I keep waiting for Kate to grow on me and she just hasn't.

I would be surprised if Celts will hit a rough patch very soon. I think the first third of the season is garbage. Teams will show their true color this season onwards

Raps’ Derozan and pre-Derozan era. Their team feels so much like that.

I think they’re trying to atleast be able to get the game close with all that collective talent. Then down the stretch, they hope they can have Vuc pull out the rim protector with Lavine and Derozan doing their damage.

They should replace their GM (Raps DNA) with someone with Celtics DNA GM. Celtics is the more evolved version of what they’re trying to build.
