Nets have several pieces that would fit nicely between Maxey & Embiid - Bridges, Johnson, Finney-Smith

So Bridges is available? Cam Johnson and Bridges for 5 1sts and cap space trade works for me. Still would have 13M to spend after that, too.

Such as? What do you see in the Embiid trade thread here that would indicate some need for "learning" on my part?

IMO, stick to actual proposals and not worry so much about people having different opinions. Just move on. Speaking of which I think it's time to take my own advice here. Good luck!

Mikal actually being available would be a nice surprise.

Anybody can sit back and have an analysis of what they think another team should do to improve. The point is that roughly 50% of the people asked to do that think the Sixers should trade Embiid as part of that process.

So, the lesson here is obviously that when you take hardcore Sixers fans out of the equation, Embiid becomes far less the treasured commodity.

But when a majority of those people site "foul baiter" "dirty player" and "choker" as their reasons, are they offering insightful analysis, or just shooting arrows about a player they don't like?

Second, I don't think there's a significant difference between trading Embiid now and trading him three years from now. In three years, there will likely be a team, similar to the Bucks trading for Dame, that sees Embiid as the final piece and is willing to trade all their picks for him.

You think?

Dame's an elite scorer who has had great playoff moments, whereas Joel has been a shell of himself in the playoffs and has precisely zero big playoff moments. And while Dame's been injured lately he doesn't have nearly the same history of injury as Joel.

It only takes one team so its certainly possible. But man, I think it's better to trade him early than hold on too long. This years the make or break year. If we don't have a sustainable contender that can win in the playoffs with Joel playing at 75% than Id look to trade him next summer.

That game-winning 3 he hit in Toronto was absolutely one of those, but it gets lost in a sea of hyperbole instead of just saying that his playoff performances haven't quite reached where they need to be to lead a team to a championship. But it's not far off.

Mikel Bridges and Cam Johnson are two players that I'd love to see us make a run at IF Brooklyn is selling.

again the time to trade Biid will be if whatever Morey's masterplan is doesn't lead to actual progression.

It will simply be time at that stage and that will be the last move to make...however I doubt it even happens then lol as Morey, Nurse, and the FO will want job security and to compete..Harris wants his new stadium as well and we owe picks...so who **** knows ha

Why?
If you're a GM with brains, you sell him when you want to go for a rebuild:

- he's too old and costly for what you want to do
- he's not helping you win enough to be a building block
- he helps you win too much what you don't want in a rebuilding fase
- his value won't get higher

I already mentioned before we should get after him, especially because his contract still is cap-friendly for 2 more seasons.
He could be a very good 3rd-4th option and gives us a lot we could use

They're in kind of a unique spot though. They think of themselves as a free agent destination, so him being in his prime and on a reasonable contract is a big help on that front. And they don't own their own picks, so they've got no incentive to tank.

Obviously a dream scenario, but based on recent reports my Plan A would be to trade for Mikal AND sign OG with remaining cap space.

For Mikal, perhaps Reed + 4/5 picks gets it done. For OG, you would be able to offer ~ $38M which seems like more than what the posters think he's going to get offered by the Knicks on their board.

Then sign the best guy you can for the room MLE. Could be a G or F. Ideally someone could handle the ball. For now I'll just say Oubre since that seems possible.

^ That's a damn interesting bunch of size, athleticism, and shooting between Embiid/Maxey.

This is why I’m really hoping George goes back to LAC.

Force Morey to look at acquiring a combination of young wings/forwards. Any two of Miles, Mikal, Lauri, and OG would be sick (obviously wouldn’t be able to do Mikal + Lauri but still).

Ingram falls somewhere in the middle of all this.

Pretty sad that the Clippers will be the smarter organization if that happens, which I have little doubt that it will. If Morey gives George the full max, every comment by NYSixersFan will have been validated - one-trick pony fraud.

But having said that, if signing it's between signing George or James, at least George keeps me a fan.

If LeBron stayed healthy (and obviously Embiid), I think we win it all. He fits exactly what this team needs, regardless of your feelings of him are.

I don't see why Lebron would leave I think he's the least likely. He went to LA to retire. Get into producing, acting, etc. Leaving there would run contrary to all his end of career and post career plans. And to a random team like the Sixers he has no connection to? Maybe I could see him returning to the Cavs.

The King Offseason

1. Trade Reed, #16, and two future 2nds for Alex Caruso
2. Max LeBron James
3. Sign Kyle Anderson with remaining cap space (~$8 mil)
4. Sign Kelly Oubre with the MLE
5. Sign Cam Payne, Kyle Lowry, Dario Saric, Nico Batum, Andre Drummond, and Robert Covington to vet mins

LeBron/Batum/Council
Anderson/Saric/Covington

I agree it’s unlikely, but I think there’s clearly a cap on how far the Lakers will go. They lose DLO and are stuck with a bunch of unreliable players on inflated contracts for multiple years. LA will always be there in a year or two when he hangs it up, but Philly has cap flexibility and is a genuinely great fit for him to close out his career; fits perfect with Klutch golden child Maxey and a face up offensive powerhouse in Joel.. Contend for two more championships to give him some additional arguments in the GOAT discussion and then retire to LA. The argument could definitely be made for him.

Lebron would be my #1 target. He checks off so many boxes for the Sixers.
