I noticed he was moving better on both ends in the timberwolves game compared to the atlanta hawks game

Usually when he misses games for injury then he isn’t practicing either. I’m assuming that he will be still be practicing.

Biid’s 3pt shooting has been a pleasant surprise. I’ve always wanted him to improve that part of his game, specially given the nature of his chemistry with Ben and his upside as a shooter.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Embiid is my man, but I didn’t like that Social Media exchange with KarlTowns. I hope somebody he respects, talks to him about that. He crossed the line.

I have no idea what triggered him. He was already being physical with Towns which is ok but him shoving Towns repeatedly was unnecessary, as were the theatrics afterwards.

His initial post was already worse than his usual trash talking posts but his comment later was simply unacceptable and something that he will regret.

He has crossed the line before when waving opponents off the court imo so it's not an isolated incident. It's one thing to play with an edge and a different thing to disrespect people in public. If he wants to keep it real he can say what he thinks face to face during the game. These twitter wars make him look bad and can hurt the team. His focus should be to win the title no to be a WWE persona.

Meh Im all for it. The NBA needs more villains and fierce rivalries. If social media was around in the 80s and 90s you would have seen way worse from some of those guys,

I have no problem with the shoving or the normal trash talking. Calling him trash and insulting his game. That's just harmless talk. But he shouldn't have ever said to Towns, "you've been a P..... You're whole life". You can't come back from that. There is no apology good enough for that. And I bet it effects how Ben Simmons feels about him going forward

I never did see a clear video of how it started, but it looked like the initial "shove" by Embiid was just him trying to yank back his own arm that KAT was holding onto. Of course, Embiid entangled the arms to begin with, but it seems like half the league does that in attempt to draw fouls. Then followed by mutual shoving, a swing by KAT, and then a mutual bear hug to the ground.

I sort of agree with you on this.

I love his personality, including his trash talk, but I thought to myself after seeing some of that stuff that if I was his father that I would try to get him to understand where the line is. He has a strong father, and I hope he picks up the phone, and Joel listens.

You don't want to be mean spirited, or overly obnoxious. The problem for him with this is that he gets rewarded by his fans that love it, and when his opponents are bothered by it he sees that as ok too. You are right. He needs someone who he respects to guide him on this.

Yeah I gotta admit that I was pretty disappointed in his behavior as well. He was really acting like a highschool kid. I'm a teacher and these are the types of things we tell our student not to post on social media because you can never come back from it, as it's always there. I didn't even think about the repercussions between him and Ben. I'm guessing Horford didn't enjoy it either. If you look at the team, there were only two people smiling, everyone was almost in shock by how amped up Joel was (most people are kinda stunned or psst off after a fight). Again I think it's his personality (he's just a big goofball, but I'm sure that picture of him crying upset him immensely). It's one thing if the media makes fun of it, and another thing if players do. But bringing his mother in it, was not something that he should have done, I'm sure his dad and mom will actually talk to him about it. His dad was from the military, and theres no place for that type of stuff.

Hard to justify and support Embiid this time around. Trash talk is fun, but at the end of the day, KAT is another grown man and this basketball thing is just a game. When you say something so personal like that, it's not ok. My biggest concern is that this doesn't push Ben away from him...Ben is so level-headed and mature (in most aspects) that I can't see him appreciating how Jojo acted. Sometimes I really don't know what goes on inside Embiid's mind.

Yep. I wonder if the team’s advisors told me to stay off Twitter until things cooled down. If no, why not? He is a great player, but he is very immature. Horford’s body language said it all. Mike Scott is a thug and it is shame Embiid was feeding off his energy.

ps: About Simmons, I expect him to be leaving in UFA to move to the West Coast, so we have him tied up until then - unless he asks out. Then we can restock.

I know what’s going on in his mind. He’s too emotional and he’s an immature 25. He got his feelings hurt when Towns posted that picture and his rage got the best of him. I think he takes what Towns posted personally, so his rage told him that all bets were off, and he could get personal. But that was too personal.

They may need to hold him out of the next game at Minnesota, ‘cause where I’m from, Towns has every right (and a duty) to punch him right in the mouth at tip-off.

I’m sure someone did tell him, possibly EB himself. Guy is clearly immature about stuff like this and doesn’t like being told what to do.

Yeah and I’m sure he was getting tweets making fun of him and telling him he lost the fight and 100 other much worse things. You can tell whenever he gets into this sort of stuff he really wants everything to know he “won” the altercation.

Regardless, it’s disappointing. Even if you think what he said wasn’t a big deal, he’s on the league’s radar now. Next time the penalty will be worse.

I really though he calmed down since he started dating his girlfriend, probably safe to say she was not in town for this whole thing lol.

This fanbase has always given him the benefit of doubt in that his antics were in good fun, but I always thought Embiid was a mean-spirited jerk.

I think he’s just watched too much pro wrestling lol. I’ve never heard much of anything about him being mean to anyone that’s not an opposing nba player.

Could be a blessing in disguise him missing the Portland game. Probably puts Mattise in the starting 5 and we get two elite defenders on CJ and Dame.

I think he had said that if he would do something stupid that would backfire he would quit the social media, so hopefully this is the case now.

:noway: bad, very bad, personality evaluation. he wasnt talking trash to towns. towns was frustrated and started some ****. its not his personality to shy away from altercations.

some guys here are overdramatic. he calls a spade a spade. PC is boring (towns... i mean come on, he said "competitive" 10x in his interview. who the **** wants to hear that lying BS??). if embiid thinks hes soft (aka calling him a pussy), why shouldnt he say it? half (more?) the league is thinking it anyway...

i mean..for some is waving off opponents, when they fouled out, is crossing a line. what in the world??!

I dont think hes mean spirited, immature yes. I really believe that embiid is more sensitive than what he tries to portray and the heckling and clowning he does is a defense mechanism. He needs to pull it back some with being disrespectful when its not warranted.
