They're supposed to be exciting to sell tickets in the new arena. That's Ballmer's immediate priority IMO.

They're kind of screwed either way because re-signing PG is not exciting anyone in LA.

Well Ben Simmons is dropping his Summer Workout Videos so I guess the Clippers can sell their fans on the new and "improved" Clippers now that Harden, George and Leonard have had a year to gel and play together. But somehow I think the results will be the same.

I'd offer to take Barnes and Huerter off of Sacto's hands for the 26 OKC 1st.

Not really a win now piece unless we got a third team involved.

I feel like the Kings should just keep their depth and use #13 to replace Malik Monk.

Yeah, I was thinking taking those two would make it easier for SAC to get Ingram, but I don't know their cap situation. Add in the Pels where they get the picks and the Kings get Ingram.

Buy low on Huerter? Kid had a down year but hard nosed, tall, can get hot from 3, better than average rebounder and playmaker for a wing.

And if Huerter played against Glenn-coached teams every night he'd be a Hall of Famer.

Only if we complete the rest of the team and operate over the cap, or later in the season in trade. Not using cap space on his 2 / $37m remaining.

Just out of curiosity, and assuming it costs very little for either one: Huerter or LaVine?

That's not getting the Kings what I would consider a significant piece lol. That to me would be like an OG level player a top 50 ish guy. Barnes has no real value outside trading him for some other guy of his level that fits better and Huerter slightly more maybe a pretty heavily protected first likely to convert to seconds. The pick has some value.

I find that the problem with the Kings is they focus more on matching up with the Warriors than on winning the championship. This is understandable if the Warriors dominate the league as they did in the past.

I’d also look to trade Barnes and Huerter, because of how inconsistent Keegan Murray is that they need a more consistent player. I’d also look for a weak side rim protector with length at the 4, who can shoot to play with Sabonis. Maybe that’s Daron Holmes or Kel’el Ware.

Unpopular opinion but i don't think the Kings are going anywhere with Sabonis.

Yeah, he's a great player and can be an offensive hub out of DHOs, but he's not able to bully good/great centers and therefore his scoring falls of a cliff and his defense is not enough to be a center on a championship-caliber team.

Huerter's contract is at least movable, if you get Lavine, you're basically forced to keep him for at least two years.

Sure, but then in three years you can do the capspace plan again and trade for that summer's Zach Lavine.

Sabonis reminds me of how Warriors used and had limited success with David Lee back then.
