We've pretty much upgraded from Shake with Buddy Hield in my opinion. I wouldn't bring him back. I pulled hard for him and really had high hopes he could become a starter in this league, but the ship has sailed as far as him in Philly goes.

We need another big, not guard. Nurse is already playing 3 guard lineups most of the time, and same as least year, we're getting killed on the boards and not creating enough turnovers.

Kenny Loften just got waived: my guess is the Sixers have decided they have to get another vet big man in here to stem the bleeding.

Clearly I have no idea how Morey and Nurse are thinking :D

I think Buddy was acquired because of his synergy with Embiid so his grade is incomplete until we see them both in action.

Edit - nvm just caught up on context from the last page. Totally agree on Shake.

Right... With this talk about Joel and how to build around him. You do need guys that can take advantage of the coverage he'll get, and I think they now have that with him now that Buddy, Maxey, Tobi, Oubre, Melton and others who can shoot are there.... They just needed Drummond for non Joel games and minutes. The same guy that was campaigning to come for 3 mil and went to Chicago because Harden and Daryl didn't want him to be his pick and roll partner, but wanted Harrell

Joel and Harden wanted certain players so Morey went out and got those players. The 76ers tried to make a deal for Drummond the Bulls backed out at the last minute. It happens. After this season is done perhaps they can take another crack at Drummond. If Joel comes back, Reed would have had a lot of time playing the center role so he will be good in non Embiid minutes.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

I think Drummond is on the summer to-do list.

What centers are possibly available in the buyout market?

Why aren't they giving Bazley a chance?

I like Bazley, but it might be too soon and almost too late to do anything with him this year. I hope I'm wrong because I personally want to see what he can do. But... At the expense of who?

Ben and I mentioned Tony Bradley in the other thread. Another player who could be worth considering is Kai Jones. I believe we need a lob threat on those weave actions and also a rim protector when we play small lineups.

Instead of Dowtin, I'd prefer to take my chances on James Bouknight in terms of prospects. Additionally, considering someone like Terrence Ross might be beneficial if we're seeking immediate contributions.

In my view, the issue with Paul Reed and Bamba lies more on offense than defense. On offense, opponents can switch on the screens they set, where these two struggle to exploit smaller defenders effectively. Additionally, they are not reliable options for guards on drop passes: Reed lacks the necessary length, while Bamba's slow reaction time and poor hands further hinder their effectiveness in this role.

However, if I were to optimize both players' performance, I would start Bamba and allow Reed more freedom with the second unit, as I previously suggested during the Celts game. Nurse implemented similar changes in the Hornets game. Bamba's style of play is better suited for starting a game or a half, whereas Reed's strengths are more beneficial in the middle and late stages of games.

Watching 'Rodman for better or worse'

Can't we just find the next Rodman ?

It’s been a while guys!

I moved back to Russia because of my business :( Miss Istanbul so much :(

So, what’s the Sixers plan?

Survive -> Get back Embiid -> 6 seed -> sweep the Cavs! -> laugh at Rivers Bucks in semis (4-2 win in semis) -> get a win in game 6 against Celtics unlike last year (no Harden and no Doc) -> Finals win against Nuggets because Embiid >>> Jokic

That’s the plan? :)

Joel Embiid has started doing on-court workouts recently — as the team is expected to re-evaluate his knee this week, Nick Nurse told Katie George before the game.

Embiid has also been lifting “100% of the weight” he was prior to the injury, Nurse added.

In addition to rebounding and additional rim protection next to Embiid, playmaking and facilitation need to be filled this offseason. I'm starting to really warm up to the idea of Ingram if NOP becomes open to parting with him.

Maxey/(vet min)
Hield/Melton
Ingram/Batum
(Room exception)/Reed
Embiid/(vet min)

Is how I hope we can round out the roster this summer.

Sixers have honestly surprised me the last couple weeks. With how bad they were playing at the beginning of February I thought they were going to go into a horrific nosedive.

From Feb 12th to March 29th the Sixers are in a stretch where 19 of the 22 games are against teams with a winning record.

So far they're 4-4. Wins(Cleveland X 2, Charlotte, Dallas) Losses(Miami, NY, Boston, Milwaukee)

With how they were playing before this stretch started I wouldn't have been shocked if they went 1-7 in those 8 (Charlotte being the only win)
