Totally a fan of acquiring Ross. We need like 2 wings added to this roster that can defend and shoot.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread 2019-2020 Post Season
Anyone know the rules regarding a sign and trade for Dario?
I feel like he would be happy to come back to Philly, and if the price is right on his contract could be a great backup 4.

He’d be a great first big off the bench backup 4/5. I think it would require moving horford somewhere else to consider it.
I know the sign and trade rules are a real pain in the ass now and kind of strict. I think the teams need to be over the cap, otherwise the team could just sign the free agent, and I think it needs to be one for one, but again don’t know 100%. We could maybe do a sign and trade for Josh Richardson, I think 10 per for Dario sounds about right like 4 years 40.

It's complicated being that they are a luxury tax team and would depend on what where they are in relation to the tax apron. If they are above the apron they can't receive back more salary than they send out. It would also hard cap them, limiting any other moves they could make.
They're best shot at Dario would be in the Suns renounce him to use their cap space elsewhere and he comes back for the tax payer MLE.

But like in the example above, would 4 years $40M for Dario traded for Josh be legal, and would Dario sign for that? And would PHX do it?

Yes, but it would likely hard cap us. And I think Dario would jump at 4/40. He hasn't been good since leaving.

I wonder if the Nets are a future trade partner with us. I feel like they want to move Dinwiddie and they had immense interest in Tobias Harris last year. If Durant and Irving are keen on Tobi, that could influence a trade. Garrett Temple, Dinwiddie, and Tauren Prince for Harris gets it done.
Irving
LeVert
Durant
Harris
Jordan/Allen
They'd also have an option for small ball with Durant or Harris playing the C position.

Lou Will for Al Horford? What else are the whispers saying we get? Need more to match salary.
Not in love w/Lou Will either but he most definitely provides something we NEED and fits better than Horford.

I can only hope the Nets are dumb enough to do that. We obviously say yes and send in the trade papers before they regain their senses.

Well the Warriors traded D'Angelo Russell for Andrew Wiggins, so...

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread 2019-2020 Post Season
I know this is a wild shot but Detroit has a lot of cap space this off season and they might want to take on Horford as he would be a good fit next to Griffin.
OKC could send us CP3 and we wouldn’t even need to send more than a second round pick.
Maybe make it even bigger
Horford, Harris and Jrich out CP3, Snell and Rose in
OKC sends CP3 and Schroder out and only brings in Jrich and a 2nd round picks
Detroit sends out Snell and rose while transforming their starting lineup with Schroeder, Harris and Horford

To MIN: Tobias Harris
To SAC: James Johnson, picks
To PHI: Buddy Hield
Simple deal. Not sure what all SAC would need to make it work, other than they get a fresh start and get out of a contract. Minny might not want to absorb Harris but also he's a good on court fit for them and who else is going to walk in as a free agent there?

The Sixers can trade Zhaire, Scott, and 36 to the Knicks for Payton (8m, 1m guaranteed) and Gibson (9.45m, 1m guaranteed), create a 6.2M TPE, then opt to guarantee both contracts for the year, correct? Obviously Harris would have to sign off on the extra expense for the year, but seems it could be a good way to create some flexibility and assets.

It's nice to dream that Joshua will take on even more salary pushing us further into the luxury tax.

He's worth billions and sells 2nd round picks "to upkeep his yacht", as I've heard it put
While maybe not realistic, they are going to have to think way outside the box to fix this. If this is legal, which I assume it is until told otherwise... this creates a TPE to be able to absorb a 6M player while also getting 2 expirings you can use to flip for about another 21M. That kind of flexibility might be crucial in being able to move Tobias or Al, for example.

Is that correct? I know it only counts as the guaranteed portion the Knicks in terms of outgoing salary, but is that how it works in terms of incoming salary for the Sixers? Doesn't seem legal

I just remember they changed the rule that partial guaranteed contracts count only for their guaranteed portion for matching. I'm not sure if it's different for outbound and inbound.

Pat Bev would likely have to be a part of that for salary matching. I imagine West will want to pilfer another young player as opposed to a pick as well, either Milton or Thybulle.
Would you do Milton and Horford for Beverley, LouWill, and Noah? That's a pass for me. Although with the ~7M savings it's quite possible Josh Harris takes it anyway.
