Boston will either trade three in a package if the deal comes to fruition, or they may end up selecting Tatum with Jackson slipping to Phoenix. Tatum has the size and scoring ability Boston could use, and things have just been too quiet around him. Just my hunch, not from any blogger or the sort.

With the second meeting in Boston being cancelled and him immediately going to philly I think that it's really close to done. Like pending a physical done. One thing I will say is if we are going all in on fultz we need to use our cap space before we have to pay embiid. We won't have a ton of guys sprinkled on rookie deals for the next 3 years.

I agree now is the time to go all in. I would like to try and get a pick between 5 and 7, if possible. At 5 I would pick Isaac and also trade for D Wade, if he leaves Chicago.
Fultz/Bayless
D Wade/TLC
Simmons/Covington
Isaac/Saric
Embiid/Holmes

My heart goes out to all the Lloyds who valiantly fought through the thicket of Fultz hype before the lotto and beat the drum for us to thrilled about having #3, and now have to deal with this wild overpay for Fultz.
Try as I might, I can't get hyped on Fultz and see him as anythin better than okay. You have to overlook a whole lot and focus on some very tiny things if you're gonna love him. I'm on record as having him as my #1 in this draft, but that has more to do with reservations about all the guys in that 2-8 range than any astounding upside. He's clearly a worse prospect than, say, Kyrie was at that age and it seems like we're paying for a truly great player--not a guy who has a decent shot at being a top-30 player in 4 or 5 years.

Agreed. I would rather trade 3 for Russell straight up than pay 3 plus a top 5 pick next year for Fultz.
In blackjack parlance, we are hitting on an 18 here. Even if we get a 3 it is a bonehead gamble.

i hope BC isn't dumb enough to give the Lakers pick.
I'm gonna have faith that He tells Ainge You obviously want Jackson and I want Fultz but I'm only willing to give you the worse of our pick or lakers next year, Okafor, #3 and #36 other wise I'll just trade the #3 for Russell who is the same player as Fultz

Still holding out a sliver of hope the deal is '18 Phi, '19 Sac, '20 OKC, and 3 for 1.
Idk why I'm doing that though, all reports are it's 3 and the Laker pick (at least) for 1.
I have Fultz on a tier by himself... but I would not have traded that Laker pick for anyone else than Anthony Davis.

To nitpick, I think this is more like hitting on a 16 when the dealer is showing a 5. Not necessarily stupid, but a low percentage play and an unnecessary gamble.

Have you guys try to check the 2018 draft? Its not that good IMO. It's big heavy kind of similar to the 2015 draft

I see the 2018 draft like a mix of 2013 and 2015 draft.

Spent hours watching Fultz@washington clips. The impression I get is he's like Kyrie as the lead guy with Cavs. His scoring is not good enough to outscore the opposing team or compensate for his team's defense.
Like Kyrie he needs to play with impact guys and use him properly by lowering the volume of his challenged shots.

I'm hoping we can at least unload a couple players in this deal so that we can utilize some of our 2nd rounders. That's why I prefer Chicago be brought in, if we're going to make this trade.

I've seen the Kyrie comps on here for Fultz - I pretty much disagree. Fultz is more the combo guard type a la Curry, Harden. Kyrie is a Steve Francis like throwback which is why Durant was comparing him to Iverson during the week. Kyrie is obviously hyper-skilled but he's much more an iso guy - if there's any comp for Kyrie in this draft its DSJ, though its true DSJ could be moulded into something resembling a Harden in the right situation.

If Fultz's defense against PGs is above average, he is a perfect fit between Simmons and Embiid. You can see he passes very well and the ball movement should be better with his vision. Jackson/Isaac are great prospects, but Fultz fits so well. I hope the trade is for real.

Fultz needs to play with high impact guys like Ben and Biid, also with a good offensive system. But there is also situation where he won't excel like on a Melo/Kyrie traditional role.
Fultz needs to take less challenged shots and pass up challenged shots for easier shots.
