He needs to start next season as secondary ballhandler/do-it-all point forward. I just can't see him running a high scoring offense TBH. He could be a super Draymond Green without the shot for us. Fultz should be our starting PG IMO.

Fultz
Player X
Covington
Simmons
Embiid

We need a point guard that’s capable of getting Simmons the ball in scoring situations. We currently have nobody on our current roster that is able to hit Simmons when he is free and in great position to score. I’d be happy to see the point guard role taken out of Simmons hands a bit so it would then free him up to get open looks and be deadly around the basket

If player X is Leonard, I'm in as long as we don't have to trade one of our 3.

I would give them Roco and the LA/Kings pick as my maximum offer to make it happen.

If Leonard doesn't like the way his rehab is being handled in SA...could you imagine how he would feel about our docs?

He’ll love it here, he can take off a whole year!!

That's some serious talent to hit long range jumpers with your off hand. I can't do anything with my left.

He can be an elite shooter with just some reps, he has the shooting form and the talent to be an offensive juggernaut.

let's worry about him being an adequate shooter before tagging him as a potentially elite shooter

I'm even a level below that with Simmons; I will take shooter full stop rest of season, aim for the adequate at some later stage.

Having said that, overall tonight was......decent.

A couple of times he dribbled into the key and stopped and passed outside when he should be shooting. They were open looks.

He just isn’t ready to capitalize on those open looks enough for it to be worth it right now. Next year he should be shooting them more often.

For now, I would just continue doing what he did tonight which is to be aggressive going to the basket, and crashing the boards. I also think Alaa’s advice about taking one more dribble when he is driving to the basket is very smart.

Simmons isn’t far away from really being consistently dominant. He just needs some tweaks, and and a few off seasons to improve his shooting.

These shots look pretty damn sweet. He is obviously working on his jumper in practice if this is anything to go by. His shot during games isn't quite the same yet... but maybe that will just come down to repetition in the next 12 months.

He needs to just go ahead and shoot just like that when they sag on him every play. His drives will become dominant immediately.

It's the fluidity that encourages me, we know he can shoot it from standstill. We've seen clips of him doing that since last year January, but pulling up with confidence after a dribble is a beautiful thing. I know it's warmups, but it's the first step.

Loved this dunk by Simmons at 0:19 in the first half, exhibited some excellent coordination with his left hand around the rim.

Yeah agreed. I does not look forced anymore. I think starting next Season Ben will shock Casual NBA Fans with a pretty decent Mid Range Shot. Then maybe a year after that we can talk about threes. The great thing is.. Ben does not need to be an elite Shooter to be Great. He just needs any kind of Jumper. Anything outside of the Paint does open up his Game. And hell even if he only becomes a 35% ond Mid Range and 30% from three kind of shooter it would be enough so Defenses would need to adress it. Anything beyond that is just gravy..

So we have one guy that can play but won't shoot in the game.
And another guy that should be playing but has lost his shot.

Only the 76ers. And Ben looks good shooting those shots.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

Being the size he is, if he can develop a consistent jump shot you would have to put a big guy in him at range. You can't guard his jumper with anyone really but PF/C sized players, but if the C is out protecting the perimeter then Simmons will use his pace and blow right by them. He'll be an absolute nightmare to guard. Can't wait to see this happen.
