Not really tho. They are going to have to pay IT, Bradley, and smart. All guards plus draft a guard. Then they have to have those guys actually pan out

When is IT up for a contract and will he be restricted or not?

Joel watched Jah shoot an efficient 7-8 (Keith says the scorer robbed him of two buckets) and said he wants the team to keep him, going into next year's playoffs. in absence of a compelling return in kind, you tell the big guy he's wrong.

Don't get sucked in on IT. He has to re-write history as the only little score first guard to lead his team to a title as the best player. Boston will have some key decisions to made coming up...do they spend some assets this year to truly compete, or hold all assets and hope for some luck in the lottery/draft? They probably can do both, but can't over value every asset. Bradley has to return healthy as well.

He'll be unrestricted summer 2018.

David Aldridge reporting Oakfor was initially held out for a trade with Portland. The Trailblazers decided to trade with Denver instead.

Nuggets threw in a first round pick just to stick it to us over the Mo Williams claim.

What could Portland even offer us? I'm glad we didn't deal with them, it makes no sense. It was probably just a highly protected 1st rounder and that's it.

Portland made the right decision. They got a first rounder for Plumlee. We would nit have given them a first. We would not want Plumlee.

I don't think Portland would want him. My guess is Colangelo put it out there to save face after the report about him looking like an idiot and the whole thing was a ploy.

Because Portland sold Plumlee. They got a 1st and Nurkic back. The Sixers are trying to sell Okafor.

So Portland went from being buyers to sellers in like 12 hours? I don't buy it.

Portland got a lopsided trade. If that was the alternative glad we didn't do the deal. Still this is bull. At some point there is going be a breaking point with Okafor and his agent.

If there isn't a decent offer out there right now we can wait until the offseason but he needs to be moved if possible. This was a self-inflicted wound. We didn't need this. We have so many other things we need to decide on by the deadline. Ersan. Henderson. Noel. Sergio. Okafor was a distant 5th. He has 2.5 years left we could have afforded to be patient. Now we can't and the entire league knows we shopped him hard and failed to move him. We are going to get lowballed bad. Sigh BC.

Portland wants to cut costs. They may have had us taking back salary in Plumlee and Ezeli until they found there was a market for them.

Plumlee makes like 3 million dollars and is signed through next season. That's peanuts. hardly cutting costs.

They made that trade to gear up for the upcoming draft, and to do a miniature tank move.

Plumlee is RFA this offseason, you're referring to his QO not his actual contract or what he'll be paid during next season (nobody knows as of yet, just that it will certainly be more than the QO).

Regardless, it doesn't really matter. Spikes said they traded him to cut salary, they traded him to acquire assets for a player who they didn't want as part of their future, and maybe take a minor step back for a couple extra ping pong balls.

That trade had zero to do with cutting salary. They wanted to sell. Get future assets for a superior current asset. Which is why trading Okafor to them is something I'm not buying. A team would have to want Okafor. And if there was a trade in place, it was probably something really bad for us. Like "we'll take Okafor off your hands if you take Crabbe's contract."

I doubt a 1st rounder was part of any deal for Okafor from Portland's end if they just acquired one the next day. It would be two totally different approaches within the span of half a day. To buy and them change your mind and sell.

LoL wut ? You didn't realize Plumlee needs to be re-signed this summer right ? And no way Portland keep him for another big contract after those astrious contracts they handed to Crabbe and Turner. This is definately a cut cost deal (for future though) and they got a good one. Denver just overpay to ensure we got screwed after all.

I thought he was a FA after this season, but I googled it and spotrac has him listed as one after next season.

Joel is doing a helluva better job of promoting Jah's trade value than BC is, lol.

No, he's an RFA this summer. What you see for next year is his RFA Qualifying offer.

How does the news of Portland backing out save face for Bryan? It makes him look like a fool.
