Who better could we get for the vet min? Possibly Jeff Teague, but that's it. So I'm good w/DJ.

I'd be pleasantly shocked if we could add someone as good as Augustin for the minimum.

PTSD from Neto. Done with the archetype of midget point guards that don't defend. But I'm expecting grown up Julian Newman to Philadelphia to be a formality at this point so whatever

DJ Agustin is very good. The Orlando Magic were also one of the best teams in the league at defense. He's not crappy like TJ or Neto. He is really good from three and is a decent facilitator. He's also had some explosive games once in a while. Definitely a good player at backup pg.

He was the worst defender on that roster that got consistent minutes by a pretty convincing margin. And even then his role was as an off the bench microwave. The defense was so good because of the ridiculous length and switchability of Isaac/Bamba/MCW (and to a lesser extent Birch/Iwundu/Ennis/Vuc/Fultz). He's not a bad player and a step above Neto, I'm just all for moving away from that build of player. I'd much rather target guys like Wright/Bradley/Wanamaker or one of the excess amounts of guards in New Orleans/San Antonio. Mills for a salary package & some minor draft compensation or Hill for something similar.

I mean, Patty Mills would be perfect. But he will cost. Not sure we're ready to pay that price. Same w/George Hill.

We need guards who can spread the floor for Jo and Ben. For too long we've had short guards, but those short guards who couldn't defend were also terrible shooters from 3. Agustin is not. The defense will be fine, with players like Embiid, Ben, maybe Noel, Green, Thybulle, and hopefully a new defensive philosophy.

I'd love both of those players too.

NO has Bledsoe and Hill, so I feel like they would give one up just for cap relief and a minor asset.

Scott, Zhaire, and a second for Hill?

Unless Presti wants to pump them for late firsts.

So thankful we're not out there overpaying in the free agent market again. Like Morey said in his presser, the FA market is where bad contracts are usually made.

No that they signed Plumlee, is Wood a possibility for a deal / S+T? Could we afford him?
