Good times.

all the 2nd rounders and centers you could ever hope for

Didn't like the tanking, huh?

I was on board with the concept, the execution was questionable - the initial GM quit in the middle and now (among a portion of the fanbase) he gets credit for things he "would have" done and not held in proper account for what he actually did or how he did it.

Losing Brolo would be a big blow for the Bucks. I find Brolo to be Giannis’ most important teammate. Brolo-Giannis defense is special while Brolo’s ability to take opposing 5s out to the perimeter allows Giannis to feast in the paint.

Giannis plays the 4, Lopez is the stretch 5.
Giannis plays the 5, Portis is the stretch 4.

Either way, they're covered.

It's usually within the context of a draft pick (Ingram over Simmons, wouldn't have traded up for Fultz, etc) or opining a FA miss or how cap was spent - in criticism of one of the successors, blindly arguing that if only Hinkie hadn't quit he would have made every perfect move.

Can't help but notice it's out there again that the Bulls are interested in Tobias.

Zach LaVine, anyone?

Much better example is the news stories out of Boston where Ainge admits he tried to trade the draft pick for Okafor. (Instead Boston drafted Brown.) That was the last trade that Sam trade to make, but got shot down as Jerry came onboard. But lucky for us there was Jerry’s son to save the day.

You are going to make me cry. That's just tragic.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

I don't understand the hate for the Process if you endured watching the Sixers for the 30 years prior, especially in the 2002-2013 timeframe.

Hinkie critics never offer an alternative plan that would've worked better.

They instead ignore Sam's accomplishments by only zeroing in on what didn't perfectly occur while wiping off Dorito dust on their Thaddeus Young jersey while a framed painting of Billy King, Ed Stefanski, and Rod Thorn playing poker hangs in the background.

It takes at least +1 standard deviation IQ to understand and appreciate a long-term strategy like The Process. Many people don't get it because they're not intelligent enough to think beyond the short-term.

Hinkie was overrated

however the process was not.

the idea to stack assets and prospects is what a lot of the up and coming teams are doing right now. Having a plan that takes time and patience is how good teams do it. Ever since the league got involved, the next GMs were always trying to get it all done in one season because of some arbitrary window....and we have paid for it dearly.

Hinkie should have been fired for the Jah pick but he was the last GM that didn't seem to be in a rush and for that he gets deified by the fanbase. Collars and Brand wanted to prove themselves and made flashy moves to satisfy the same dolts who couldn't wait...and sans Jimmy and initially Ben all of their moves were duds and castostrophic ones. Jah sucked but we were still an ass team so it didn't hurt as bad as throwing away assets has.

If the Wizards wanted Ayton the Suns would have put him in the Beal deal...

Reminds me of that Sixers practice video where the guys collectively missed like 20 consecutive shots.

And Atlanta just dumped Collins on Utah. Only took back Rudy Gay and a 2nd.

Over here breathing a massive sigh of relief we didn't trade for him.

Victor shot 27% from 3 over the past two seasons. I’ll be interested to see how good his shooting actually is vs the hype.
