Big three needs to Get around 60ppg or more. Jah allows Simmons or Embiid to be part of it, two non volume scorers but high on rebs, assists and deflections. Problem lies on the spacing, but hell maybe Simmons, Jah and Biid eventually shoot 3s. LOL

Yep small ball dude, Otto Porter at the four yo, Jared Dudley at the four yo, no no....JABARI PARKER at the four....Guy can't guard a corpse, but he's a SMALL BALL four!!!! Dat small ball!!!....The NBA has no use for a 6'11 265 pound that can score on you in every way possible (three pointer in the works).

Serious question.

In the modern NBA, is Karl Malone a 4?

I don't see why Okafor can't play the Karl Malone role of he can expand his shooting range.

Yes, 4 in a big line-up with some 5 playing with a rim protector 4, or with two high drpm wings.

I don't really think its "small ball", its more shooting which can create space for the key scorers and speed to get up and down the court quicker. I don't really see people clamouring for short, slow dudes who can't shoot.

Don't downplay the aim though, more space for guys like Jah to operate and do what they do best, helps facilitate an efficient offense.

Since 12/25 (Ish-mas):
Sixers: 100.0 Orating 103.8 Drating -3.8 Net

Okafor: 102.2 104.8 -2.6

Ish: 96.4 103.0 -6.6
Noel: 95.0 101.6 -6.7

Minutes against unequal competition is a big factor and its a small sample to begin with, but:
Jakarr: 103.8 96.9 +7.0
McConnell: 106.9 105.5 +1.4
Marshall: 105.4 104.5 +0.9
Canaan: 90.6 109.6 -19.0

etc...

Clearly, Jakaar is underpaid and Ish is taking minutes from more efficient PGs. OK4 & Noel should be traded ASAP. Canaan still should have been cut months ago.

Don't believe you can split that from specific dates. The lowest I noticed that it got to was -0.8, it's currently at -0.6. BPM has improved by about a point though.

Thanks. Well can you do it for RPM for Okafor before and after Ish?

Very few advanced metrics allow you to do it, however many tweeted his RPM at it's lowest, the day before(/of) playing his first game with Ish so it is recorded. Before Ish he had a -6.90 RPM, to date he has a -5.85 RPM.

RPM with what it is doesn't function like:
RPM now = 20% * (RPM post Ish) + 80% * (RPM pre Ish)

On the other hand, BPM does.
So, if you plug in:
BPM now = 20% * (BPM post Ish) + 80% * (BPM pre Ish) with -5.8 and -4.8 you get a
-0.8 BPM post Ish.

Perhaps more useful would be the DRE from nylon calculus:

http://nyloncalculus.com/stats/dre-single-game-and-season-long/

Although I don't see in season splits of it there for this year, just last year?

Good to see Jahlil hit that "almost" 3 in the 4th last night. When him and Joel are knocking those down, its gonna be iso world on the block for whoevers in the paint. Its crazy to believe he's got this much talent at 19/20. Practices should be especially fun come next season with Jah and Joel going at each other.

I can't wait to hear about how Embiid looks going against Okafor in practices. That will be the next big milestone before summer league, and then the start of the season next year.

Hmm.. Do you guys think Jah can sustain this 60+FG% shooting this Jan.? I just hope that when it goes to normal (around 50FG%), he'll give more effort on defense/reb to make it up so he can sustain a minimal negative at worst +/- and net rating (more rebs and deflections).

Anyway, out of Kp and Towns,I think Jah has improved the most. And it's impressive considering most experts think of him as a low upside nba ready prospect

If KP was on this team, we'd be ripping him, he would look nowhere near as good in philly as he does in NYK, Jah is still by far the more talented player and its not even close

I agree. I brought it up to highlight the way people make claims about Okafor not being able to guard stretch 4's as precluding him from playing the position. I think that Karl Malone would have the same problems, but he was one of the greatest 4's of all time.

Again, I'm not discounting the fact that Malone was in better shape, and
was a much more consistent shooter with more range. I'm arguing that Okafor can get there though.

Just because you have a weakness that other teams will try to exploit doesn't mean that you can't play the position full time and be a star player.

Try to abuse Okafor with your stretch 4 and then he will abuse that same guy on the other end. Let he who capitalizes on the mismatch better win.

An Embiid and Okafor front court, surrounded by a smart point guard and shooters can cause major problems for opposing defenses. It will dictate the personnel on the floor for the opponent more than the opponent will be able to exploit matchups on the other end.

I do think Zingis' flaws would have been exposed more here.

Add to the fact that Jah probably would be putting up crazy numbers in NY and you have a perfect storm of sorts lol
