Although it would be difficult to get judges to look so closely at 30 teams. But i mean, if we're going to put a few weeks into the drafting of our team, we need to get thorough and dedicated judging to make it worthwhile.

That's why I say the 30 or so of us participarting should be the judges. 30 people's opnions reduces the individual player bias that you get when you have only 4-5 people judging.

I definitely think we did get thorough judging. I did this for the Knicks board last year, and it isn't something that you just take a quick look at the team, and give them the score. I'd imagine the judges this year did the same.

The other problem with that is after the very first time we did that...it could get sticky. We see posters argue here and fight, and I think that could evolve into the judging. Say someone gives your team a bad score and you don't agree with...then you go and give their team a bad score.

As much as I would like to think people would be fair and be mature about it, I can't say I do think that.

Besides...I still think the bad teams are going to be the bad teams. My Suns team would still be in the middle (at best) no matter who is judging me. The Heat and Spurs will still among the better teams.

Then you made the results confidential. People would send them to you PK5 and then you can post them leaving off who gave who what scores. That would eliminate the "retaliation effect".

I don't know...I still think we'll have pretty much the same rankings except it will be more work for the rest of us.

Agreed. It's not like if you have 30 people judging as opposed to 5, you'll get a much greater difference on average for results. if you had a bad team and on average 5 judges say you were in the bottom 5 teams, it's not likely you'll crack the top 10 when adding another 25 people.

Well, with just the 4 judges rating we have seen a HUGE discrepancy with scores for certain teams, so I disagree. One low score can really hurt someone's overall score when there's only 4-5 scores. One or two low ones with 30 people doesn't have the same impact.

Plus, I think we need to be the ones controlling the judging. Not saying these 4 or 5 people scoring them didn't put effort in, but I know I wouldn't put as much since it seems to be very time consuming (if you take it seriously) and I think the people in the draft would be much more willing to give up their time for it (since we already did that for the draft).

But whatever, we all will have different opinion on the best ways to handle the judging.

Do you guys read the thread? I seriously question that since it's been stated, and then re-stated/questioned because we are thinking about doing something else including the sim.

Lol : I'm shocked when I saw that Jordan Sams guy gives 10 teams zero points in the contender category. Does that mean those 10 teams would have no hope to be in the playoffs ? I mean that 10 zero points could proves that some of the judges may not put quite effert on judging this. I'm not blame him for giving us ridicular points I'm just saying that if you recieved our invitation of being the judge you should at least give some explanations for your scores instead of just put some meaningless numbers.

I can tell you, your overall winner is the...

Eellsy - San Antonio Spurs

With rankings of 1, 1, 4, and 3. This part is taking longer than expected though because of a certain circumstance >_<

Just going off the eyeball from these rankings...Heat, Blazers, Knicks, and Kings probably round out the top 5 (not in that order).

But here are the playoff match ups for the poll voting...

First off, I'd be lying to you if I said I went through each team and averaged it out. What I did was...if you made the playoffs in all 4 judges minds, then you were in. Then if you made it in all three, you were in. The only time there was question, was if you only made it in twice...but luckily for myself, it worked out fine.

Then to figure out the seeds, it went off how many times you made it, and then how how your seed was in each judges group.

Eastern Conference
#1 New York Knicks vs #8 New Jersey Nets
#2 Miami Heat vs #7 Detroit Pistons
#3 Charlotte Bobcats vs #6 Toronto Raptors
#4 Washington Wizards vs #5 Atlanta Hawks

Western Conference
#1 Spurs vs #8 LA Clippers
#2 Houston Rockets vs #7 Utah Jazz
#3 Memphis Grizzlies vs #6 Portland Trail Blazers
#4 Seattle Super Sonics vs #5 Sacramento Kings

We'll start voting for these either tonight or tomorrow when I get up.

My average score after combining all 4 of my scores is 24.5...

Why didn't I make the playoffs?

Which score did you base the playoffs on?
